In which I wasn't allowed to go to work...

RE: my last post about leaving the guinea pigs community. That thread received over 50 comments. People are still posting on it this week and its almost 2 weeks since I posted. Mostly they think I should be open to their "advice" and that I am a terrible pet owner for not being able to cope with their criticism. One person even posted "I checked out your lj to see if you'd posted anything about this and just to see your userinfo (as I do with most names I'm not familiar with) and you said that "almost all of your responses were flames." Which of these did you see as flames? I'm just curious. I don't see any flames. Who specifically in this post is flaming you, and what is your definition of "most"?" Did she miss the part where I said I was leaving? Maybe I have my definition of flame a little screwed up, but basically no one said anything nice about it on my post (I didn't expect them to, but some of the comments were pretty hurtful)

And after all that it's been an eventful week.

Wednesday, after a nightmare evening at Cubs/Scouts, because I had no helpers and neither did TheBoy and both our meetings overlap, so we couldn't properly help each other. We decided to go for a beer afterwards. That was the nice part. About 4am on Thursday morning when I was sick was the not good part. So on Thursday morning at 7am, still feeling very grotty, I phoned in sick for work. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a hangover, as I had no headache or dehydration. 2 pints is not that much... I've been very tired and work is super stressful atm, maybe being run down and then drinking didn't help. Maybe it was Monday's leftover Veggie Shepherds pie for tea... though it was heated right through in the oven for 40 mins. I don't know. So I stayed home, slept until 11am, watched mindless daytime TV until 2pm (Who knew you could make so many different programs about the junk in people's houses?), then watched Glee on 4od for the afternoon. In the evening I had a bath and finally got around to a long overdue defuzzing... I had noticed the night before my hairy legs were getting out of hand. I hardly notice because they are pale blond on my lilly white legs, but at almost 1cm I was appalled when I noticed them! It's certainly been the winter for thick wooly tights, so they escaped my notice

Friday morning, feeling like a million trillion times better, I set off for work, 20 mins drive in. I was told I needed to speak to the nurse, before I even put my bag down. She said since I'd been sick and it wasn't yet 48hours since my last episode that I had to go home. Plenty of kids have been sent home with vomiting/diarrhoea this week and they think it might be Noro-virus. So feeling totally fine and a full timetable day plus afterschool Maths tution, I had to go home. I called Mum because she doesn't work on Fridays and we met in Leeds for lunch and shopping!

I bought a Hippy Chick bathbomb from Lush,

Smiley food stickers and a postcard from Paperchase,

A rolling pin and icing nozzle set in TK Maxx and the closed star and open star tip I needed for my next batch of cupcakes with piped frosting from the best kitchen shop in Leeds, Peter Maturi.

I also found the lacy card cupcake wrappers that Jemma wants for her wedding cakes in TK Maxx at only £4 a packet, instead of the ones I'd seen online for £6 + postage. They only had 60 though and we need 100, oh and some are red, but her wedding theme is purple... I can always take them back if they are not what she wants.

You have to love a 4 day weekend... even if I was poorly for one day of it. Oh and next week is only a 4 day working week. Then Easter week, we're hiring a Campervan on the Isle of Wight. I am getting very excited!!!

holidays, cupcakes, shopping, ill: sick
