In which I needed some retail therapy...
We had a great weekend... Trip to the Dales to celebrate Tom's birthday. 12 of us in a snowy bunkhose! It looked beautiful. Must get TheBoy to d/l the photos (my PC doesn't have a card reader) Zac was a bit grumpy, after he lost his headphones... but they were only on the shelf!!! Then when we stopped for a drink, a dog came over for a sniff, and did some dirty business on his new bag. Much rage ensued!!! He was very moody... and stomped and swore a lot, which made me quite embarassed and upset, especailly in front Tom's friends we don't really know that well! When we got home we were both very tired, and snipping at each other. Decided to go to bed early. Good plan really, I might have killed him!!!! I thought I was supposed to be the one with PMT... I was a bit weepy last week, and I started this morning... hopefully it will be over and done with soon! Messy business!
Monday I had tutoring, but was really tired. Its coming close to her exam now, so I had to do a 2 hour session, plus its a 25 min drive each way. I had a power nap when he got in from work, as I wouldn't have made it through! I earned £40 though... and I'm all set for two hour sessions for the next 2 weeks! *thinks of all the lovely things she could buy* I had a lovely bath when I got in, and then spent the last of my Amazon vouchers on Titanic and Billy Elliot DVD's, How to Teach Filthy Rich Girls (which is the book Privileged was based on) and a lovely illustrated hardback version of a Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. My papreback edition is very well thumbed and marked out with post-its... I've been reading it to my Year 10's when I was teaching them about radioactivity and Marie Curie, and again when we did about The Big Bang and Edwin Hubble. The Bill Bryson book and Titanic, are in Shipley now... so should be delivered tomorrow, while I'm out at work no doubt! The others won't dispatch til nearer the end of the month... A nice treat for later! I was also tempted to buy some bathbombs from lush... I made a list of the ones I might like, but I think I will head into Leeds or wait until my birthday.
Tuesday I finished work early again (we've had 2.30pm finishes because of the snow... though we've been open everyday!) Called at Tesco for more retail therapy. I wanted a craft magazine, but couldn't decide between Cross Stitch Crazy and Crafts Beautiful, so I bought them both! I got a nice fruit juice and a tiny Lindor gold bunny. I found a Strictly come dancing workout DVD twinpack... I've just done a bit of one of them and it was pretty good, though the ChaCha was hard!!! We watched Harry Potter & THBP, that I had borrowed from the school libray. But we were interrupted twice by Linda and Barbara from Cubs phoning about meetings... I had a Cub Leaders meeting at 8.15 too... so that set MrSulkyPants off again... Apparently I haven't spent any time with him this week! Except a whole weekend in the Dales, and a whole Harry Potter film on the sofa! Its not like I was just going out with my friends, I was working on Monday and it was a Scouty thing on Tuesday. Tonight we cancelled Cubs and Scouts because of the ice... too dangerous, as we've still not had any grit in the village!
I drove my car down Mary Street this morning, intending to turn right at the bottom, but I ended doing a 90degree spin and ended up facing left in the middle of Titus Street! Not good times! Attendance was pretty low today, and most staff didn't arrive until closer to 9.30... but still we were bloody open! We'll see what tomorrow brings eh?
Anyways, off for a shower... I'm all sweaty after my Strictly workout!
