Greetings from Bay City, Michigan
I am posting this from my hotel room in Bay City, Michigan. My first overnight business trip. It has been almost a year since I started my position dealing with remedial projects, and this is the first time that I have had something come up that was of a semi urgant nature that required me to get out to site and possible stay there for a few days. There was a sprinkler leak on our project up here, which happened to be the job that I passed up to take my office job. By the time I got here all the unts had been died out and all of the damaged drywall had been remove. I am happy the drywall was gone, because I was anticipating having to hire some day labor to do all of that, and that would have meant that I would have been here for a couple of days longer. All and all I think that I am mostlikely going to have a ful day of work tomorrow, then I'll spend another night before wrapping up any ends and headign home. Granted, this is only the recon trip, and I am going to have to come back during the repair process, but atleast that trip will be a little better planned.
The 350 mile drive up here was boring, but I made it. I was really concerned that since my back and now shoulder have been hurting, that I would have to stop a bunch of times, but I only stopped 3 times, once to stretch, once for lunch, and once for a power nap. My back is still bugging me, and the car ride didn't help, but overall I am feeling a lot better.
