I guess I figured out a way to justify getting a new laptop. I bought a new MacBook last Sunday. Unfortunately, my wireless network crashed on Sunday, so I spend more time fooling around with the wireless router than I did playing with my new toy. I spend some time yesterday reading about setting up a wireless network, and I adjusted a bunch of settings and the network seem to be stable for the moment.
I am actually sitting in the 2nd floor waiting area of the cancer center waiting for them to call me to take some blood. This is always the first stop on a treatment day. Sign in, and then sit and wait for them to call you in to take the blood sample...
Well, they have gotten their blood for the day and after having been weighed (lost a few pounds), had my temp, bp, and pulse taken, I am not sitting in an exam room waiting for the doctor to come in. Some times at this point a medical student will come in to take a history. They always want to listen to my heart and lungs, though I can't remember the last time that my doctor did...
The CT results were what I would have expected. Everything is growing, but not all that fast. The doctor thinks that is is worth continuing the treatment that I have been on. I talked to the doctor about the pain that I have been having in my abdomen and back, and he thinks that it is most like caused by enlarged lymph nodes, rather than the liver itself. He wrote me a prescription for some pain pills, and considering that the pain keep we from getting much sleep last night, I am definitely going to try and get it filled today.
I am now upstairs in the waiting area for the infusion center. This is where I usually spend the most time waiting. The worst part is that the chair here are horribly uncomfortable, but they must be well built because I can feel all of the framing under my butt. There s really only one good chair in this waiting room, and it is only better than the rest is because there is a receptacle behind it, and there have been times where my DS has been running low on batteries, so it has been a real life saver.
I think I'll surf the net while I wait. Too be continued....
