Howl and Serenity (just scroll past the vacation-ramblings to the bottom)

So finally everything clicked, and me and L were able to get out of town just in time to miss the entire city-festival-thingy (which consists, mostly, of people coming in from the countryside, getting drunk and urinating on our streets. Ok, maybe not that bad, but almost). Caught the train to Gothenburg and then travelled on to Orust, this big island on the west-coast, were L's grandmother owns the first floor of an old boarding house (the second floor being owned by some unidentified Danish people, I think) in what used to be a luxurious seaside resort in the twenties, before cheap airplane tickets hit the market.

Our vacation was mainly spent eating and sleeping. My father gave me his old camera (semi-automatic, really nice Minolta) before we left, so I spent quite some time playing around with that, and L did some writing while I took naps after every meal.

Anyway, just spending all that time together was brilliant, I hadn't even noticed how tired and irritable I had been over summer, and how much I'd missed her even though I've been sleeping at her place every night. One week later, when we got home, we were both rested and ready for school. And now that's started, and it's marketing all over again, only this time it's centered on the publishing market, and I'm reading it with people I can identify with in a place I like, and it makes a world of difference.

And now to something completely different: For those of you who managed to get this far and happen to live around these here parts (i.e. southern Sweden): check out the fantastic film festival's homepage (www.fff.se). I haven't looked through the entire program properly yet, but asides from it being a nice film festival that should be supported, they're showing Howl's moving castle before anyone else in Sweden, and (fanfares) they're showing Serenity even before it opens in the USA!
