A little while ago Kate introduced us to the TV show How I Met Your Mother. And I must say it is pretty damned hysterical.

The best part about the show is Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Barney. Barney is essentially the American version of Patrick from Coupling. He also gets the best lines, such as the one I used for the subject heading. In context it's freakin' hysterical.

The show has a charming cast all around, though, and the fact that Bob Saget narrates it is pretty cool. Although, Bob Saget is actually one of the show's problems. See, the whole idea is that the show is the main character, Ted, telling his two children the story of how he met their mother. Sounds pretty neat, right? There's just one problem:

The creators of the show have already said that they won't reveal who the mother is until the very last episode of the entire show. To me, this really ruins a lot of the show's potential. The show already has a great on-again, off-again romance going between Ted and Robin, but the very first episode came out and said that Robin is not the mother in question. Personally, I think the show would be a lot better if she was.

However, that's a minor problem when the rest of the show is so damned fun. I might actually have to start watching it.
