At Last, Something Original

Jan 02, 2004 17:46

Ok. So. Here's something original. It's a little sparse as I was planning on going back in and dumping some six string riffs into it, but I decided to forego that and just deal with what I had.

I call this "Fleeting Thought".

Woke up this morning
You know, I wasn't thinking of you
I didn't think about the places we won't go to
Or roads to nowhere
Or how I'd carry on
Got up, made coffee
Then I picked up the telephone
I might have tried to reach you
If I didn't think
You'd just as soon be gone

And I might kiss you
When in my bed you lay
But to me you are colder
Than a snow in late May

Poly is just an answer to a question
You can't ask just one
Because when you give it all to all
You know you can't give enough to just one
And I'm through choking on this
And I'm through swallowing this
From here I move forward
Every journey is a new twist

And I might stumble
When I'm on my way
But it'll be deep and sober
Like a snow in late May

Now, on this one I know the legal stuff counts, so here goes:
