so, as it turns out, alexander the great did not open for hanson. and yes, they are all completely devastated. except not at all.
some guy at the bird offered the slot to chris's band because he really likes them but the day before the show the stupid assholes in hanson listened to a sample of a few local bands and ultimately decided that the clayton anderson band was better suited for their show. for all of you outside of the bloomington bubble, let me explain why this is so shitty. one, alexander the great is actually a band. the clayton anderson band has no original songs and covers all o.a.r. and dave matthews band. because we really need more shit in the world, right? so hanson tries to play like they are all indie and into local music, blah blah blah. bullshit. if you cared even an ounce for local music you would've picked an actual band and not some frat-obsessed cover band. as if i didn't hate hanson before, now i loathe them.
the boys in atg aren't heartbroken but still, what a bunch of douchebags. not to mention there were actually dumb asses camping in front of the bluebird the nite before and the next day they were still the only ones there. haha, you could've slept at home, in a warm bed but instead you wanted to show yr dedication for one of history's shittiest bands ever. i can't believe i'm saying this, but i'd rather listen to abba.
chris's band played last nite at fester's for kentucky nightmare's cd release show. i was going to go but i just didn't feel well at all. i ended up falling asleep at 11:30p or something ridiculous. i was still tired from thursday. it was annica's birthday so we went to domo, this asian place that has a karaoke basement. it was a blast except the fucking woman charged us wayyy too much. she took advantage and there wasn't much we could do. i will never go there again, needless to say. after domo, and five hundred sake bombs, we went to jake's, gross, and danced until some crappy ass bruce springsteen cover band started. the lead singer even looked like the boss, it was sad. after that we went to the vid and i don't really remember much after that. at some point i went home but the next morning i woke up at chris's...weird.
good times.
i need to stop drinking so much...
xoxo
