I MET TAYLOR HICKS!! :D :D :D
I went to Bham on the 17 to see Taylor with Snoop Dogg and I just now got around to getting everything typed up and the pix all watermarked.
So my friend from the AI board let me know on Friday night that Taylor was gonna be performing with Snoop. I knew it'd probably be only one song but how many chances will one get to see Taylor Hicks play with SNOOP DOGG!? So Saturday morning I packed my ass in the car for a 7 hr. drive.
I got there and hooked up with some peeps from the board and had a freaking BLAST! The concert was one of the best I've ever been to. So after the concert I'm trying to find the girls I was with when I saw all these people standing at this gate and I was wondering WTF was going on.
Then I see Taylor's gray head bouncing down the line of people. So I got my ass over there and got into a spot just as he was coming over and I stuck my hand out and he shook it. Not a weakass, I'm a celeb and I'm trying to touch as many people as I can, but a REAL good handshake. I didn't even have time to get anything out of my mouth before he was gone back down the line. I wanted him to sign something but I didn't have anything so I waited for him to come back around and I said, "Sweeheart will you sign my shirt?" He said "of course", turned me around and signed the back of my shirt. I said, "Thanks, hon." And then he was off again signing more stuff for everyone before he left. It was awesome. I just wish I had know at the time that he had worn me and mql's Otis Redding shirt when he played with Robert Randolph because I woulda wanted to say something.
After the concert we went to go see LiMBO play. They were AWESOME and they're such kick ass guys. Zippy LiMBO's drummer and my friend, Melissa where tripping me out with their "ZIPPY MATTERS" campaign and OMG shhhhh, don't tell Taylor but I think I'm leaving him for his guitarist,Sam.
Hehe Sorry TayTay, Stiney's always had a thing for men that could play guitar like that.
So after seeing LiMBO I decided to stay in town and go see them perform the next day. Little did I know that by the time I woke up it would be known that Taylor was gonna be there.
The concert was FREAKING AMAZING! I swear each time I see the man he gets better and better. Even though it was 45986745896759674856748634053450 degrees and there was the gross DRUNK OLD woman in the tube top screaming for Taylor and almost burning me with her cigarette it was the BEST day ever.
