an amazing woman I've never met, Tara Newby
Should post a substantive post sometime but a facebook status update lead me to these videos and I wanted to share. Preston Newby was a classmate of mine in HS. He did debate with me and was generally just a really nice guy. He died in a car accident about a year ago after stopping to help a young girl who'd hit a deer. He was on the side of the road calling 911 and comforting her when he was hit by another car. He left behind his wife Tara, their 18 month old Jacob, and a baby on the way (although he was due in April). I guess Tara's doing some promotions for Farmer's Insurance and their life insurance program and that's why there's videos of her surfacing again, but she's an amazing woman.

Sometimes in the middle of all my stress and feeling like the universe isn't being very nice to me, I forget to be grateful for the wonderful life and family and friends I DO have. The world is a pretty amazing place if you stop putting all of your attention on the things to complain about.
