So, since my last post, I can say I have basically failed at it all. Okay, so I have read through my first NaNo novel, made some changes and writing muse is talking to plotting muse again. We will see if she is inspired enough to continue the story. I realised while rereading it, I really do love this story. A few minor changes have been made, nothing major. I need a new name for the story book and a new name for the heroine's store, but other than that, it is ready to be continued. I have cut out about 20,000 words I wrote towards the end because they didn't make sense with the story. I was rushing to get to 50,000 and the last bit sucked so bad, I didn't even keep a copy of what I deleted. Yes, it was that bad. So now I have about 25,000 or so of solid writing to work with.
So, I realised I am going to have to at some near point write some smut into my story. What good is a romance novel without some smut? I don't really write smut. This should be interesting to say the least. Somehow I don't think fade to black scenes will cut it when I try to sell this book. I am on chapter 8 and no smut yet. The first 7 chapters avg around 4500 words. I have to check some paperbacks to see what the chapters avg in a published book. I also think I need some opinions on this storyline. Anyone interested in reading it? I think it may not have enough description. I just have a hard time "seeing" where to add it. It is a paranormal romance. And believe it or not, it doesn't involve witches and wizards or vampires or werewolves. LOL It does involve a made-up Native American legend. Typical good vs. evil story.
As for my other OFs... I think other than trying to work on the one for the Anthology, I am not going to even reread them right now. I want to concentrate on this one. If I need a break or get stuck, I have plenty of fanfiction WIPs to work on. Hopefully, with my new schedule, I can write every night. That is my goal.
Facebook and facebook games, EPIC fail. Okay, so I have tried my best to spend less time on them, but I still find myself going to facebook way too much. I am so weak. I have turned off the two toolbars that had the quick links to facebook games.
Catching up on MNFF - epic fail. However, tomorrow I will get through my complete to-do list on there. Yes, TTB challenges will have my comments for winners tomorrow. I will mod and I will get flash done.
Catching up on Writers Forum - epic fail.
I start my new schedule on Monday. I will be back to working normal 8 hour days, 5 days a week. Which means I will be home 2 hours earlier every night. I may actually be able to get stuff done online before I crash.
Okay, I need to go to Harlequin and check some of their manuscript requirements. It would be a lifelong dream to have them publish this book, though I will probably end up going through either another publishing agency or something like Lulu.
Oh, I may have to turn the internet connection off at night if I can't get my facebook addiction under control. I am determined to write. hehehe But for now, I will just try closing firefox when I am writing so I have to think about opening it instead of just clicking on it in the toolbar.
Okay, I am off to do some quick research, then maybe, just maybe muse will give me something to write.
