Draco awoke with a shriek, gasping for breath as he scrambled to an upright position, eyes darting nervously around the room. Empty, as usual. He fell back to the bed with an exasperated sigh, rolling over in an attempt to get back to sleep.

- Shooting pain drew Draco out of what he thought to be a restful slumber. It wasn't just his head, as a sudden onset headache might suggest, but a pain that throbbed in his entire body. He contorted suddenly, feeling as if he was being torn apart; the floor was cold beneath his body as he writhed uncomfortably.
The pain subsided briefly, allowing him enough time to crack one grey eye - the room was too dark to see through, however. His vision had yet to adjust, and before it had time to, another painful jolt shot through him.
