As promised, we have an art update. This is a scene out of Chapter 10 of my fanfic, After the Die is Cast in which Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and Draco find Harry after Snape, in his dying breath, tells him what he must do in order to survive (yes, that's Dead!Snape on the ground there). Here's the moment:
"Let me through.” Ginny sprang forward and

Ah well. Very good. I may have to make some time to go read your fic after all. =)

So happy you're thinking of checking out the fic :). The first chapter is somewhat cumbersome and will be rewritten in the near future (since I was too eager to skip to the final battle to start the fic at the beginning of Year 7 and wound up writing a prologue to get people up to speed instead), but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless :).

I usually don't read many 'what should/might happen' fics. I tend to stick to the odd, never ever going to happen variety, like dark fics, and Voldy victory fics. And humor/parody, of course. =) Probably because that makes it easier for me to separate them from what JKR is actually writing... =)
But your artwork is intriguing me, so yes, I shall check it out sometime in the near future.
*art love* =)

It's funny, because I had never even thought of doing HP fanfiction until someone came to me with the argument of "Harry (nor his scar) could never be a Horcrux because it's implausible and he'd have to die." I was like, "Dude, you're talking to an English MA student. Is that a challenge?" So I sat down and mapped out a plot that is based 99.9% on everything we've read so far and takes on the Harry/Horcrux issue just for the sake of saying "not so implausible after all, is it?"
Thus, AtDic was born and it quickly took on a life of its own. If my art has nudged you towards reading it, even if you never get around to it, I'm still gratified to know it :).

I'm also wondering which fic rec of mine you may have followed, because I don't read slash, as a main pairing anyway. o.O Though many of my favorite authors/darkfic lovers are quite fond of H/D, so I can see how the breadcrumbs could lead there. =)

PS: I've started posting the chapters of AtDic on LJ. Chapter one is up on hp_cafe and is rather brief and perfunctory, if I do say so myself. The ones that follow it are considerably meatier and finally get to the heart of the Harry/Horcrux issue :). Anyway, if you're curious or just looking to kill 15 minutes, I hope you'll check it out!
