First off, thank you so much to the following people who backed the Starflyer John Jackson Kickstarter Campaign: lunalovepotter, major_dallas, geezer_also, elka78, lewlinx, hedwig5221, star54kar, lnalvgd, yaaronet, Pili204 and other friends and family on Facebook (whose LJ handles either elude me or do not exist). I did not make a commitment but might with the re-launch.

If you don't mind, I have some other suggestions as well, based entirely on my own opinion.

1) I have another friend who attempted a Kickstarter for expenses for his self-published book. It too was unsuccessful. In both cases the minimum contribution amount did not include a copy (hard or electronic) of the finished product and I believe this is a mistake. Make sure every backer will be able to see the finished product.

2) "Streamline" is a good word, not just for what to do with the expenses but in the campaign. I think fewer options would be better.

3) I don't think "signed copy of" carries a ton of weight for unknown names and should be part of any package that includes a hard copy of the book.

4) Video might have worked better without the blooper reel at the beginning. Put at end or save it as an extra that backers are sent during the process. Obviously if new goal is to essentially recapture the backers already committed, this does not really matter. But maybe it can be exceeded this time (and, new campaign should probably be sure to share what would be done if funding does manage to grow beyond the goal).

5) A nice benefit that could also help to spread the word about the book is that certain funding levels could include extra copies that could be given as gifts. One twist would be to have backers in certain levels name a local or school library that could get a copy as a gift.
