And you got radishes in perfectly! Your first line hits the reader just like a...radish in the head. Perfect! :)

LOL Glad you liked the way I so artfully worked them in.

I'm scared now... all of the entries I've read so far have been so radically different from mine. But it's part of my style! I hope I get to week 2...

But I like this! :-)

Thank you, and don't be scared! Different is good. It'll make your entry stand out. I haven't read it yet--just got in from work--but definitely will this evening.

I haven't posted it yet - my internet was down all day yesterday as you know - and I didn't bring the document to the office today. I will post it tonight almost for sure!
And for voting - how does that work?

Oh, gotcha.

After the deadline for story submissions is up, Gary will post a poll, and ask people to vote for their favorites. No need to limit yourself, vote for as many as you like.

I really like these characters, they feel very real.

This line especially stood out to me: "I love them because they're my parents, but I also respect what they're trying to accomplish. I don't have to believe in God to do either one of those things." Plus your opening line, just hits you like a radish to the head, as faerie_spark said. xDD

Thank you so much, that's always my main concern, that my characters feel like real people. Tony and Kellie are pretty young, around 14 or 15, so I hope I captured that adequately. To me, Tony in particular feels VERY 14. :)

Tony feels just like every teenage boy I've ever known.

These are great characters and I love the use of radishes.

Thank you! I'm glad the characters were real to you. I guess I can still channel teenage guy okay, for what that's worth. *grin*
