It wasn't exactly much of a sign of fear. Just a slight widening of Lee's eyes when Chase mentioned that the swimming pool was actually in the basement. He told himself that it was ridiculous, it was the logical place, after all, and would it be easier to think of it as 'the sub-level' of something? But no, it didn't help much, some part of his mind just balked ( ... )

The second day of the weekend was as busy and active as it was supposed to be; they came up to their room for a bit of a rest (the swimming had been fun - but, as it was supposed to be, tiring; a half hour of just lounging around and talking wasn't a bad thing), then, as planned, ready for a dinner elsewhere ( ... )

The girl was just polite enough to be difficult to brush off, and just insistent enough to make one want to, and the green eyes flashed in amused accusation as Chase excused himself from the sort-of conversation between his actor companion for the evening and his fan to go get them drinks. But it didn't cost him anything to smile and be polite a little longer, and Lee did enjoy the attention, stilted though it was. Even if he followed the younger man's progress across the place. The elegant way in which the too-thin body wound through the crowd. The way his handsome face turned heads, both literally and figuratively ( ... )
