If you're like me and imported your LiveJournal into Dreamwidth in the window where LJ was failing to transmit comments with your posts, then went back after the bug was fixed and reimported, you may find that you now have duplicated your imported content. And if you're like me, that could mean a LOT of duplicate backposts. Like, a LOT-alot.
I sent in a question to the DW support team because there was no apparent way to do a mass delete of content, unlike the feature here on LJ, for security reasons (say, if someone gains access to your account maliciously). But apparently you can delete all IMPORTED content, thus wiping the slate clean for a fresh import that will hopefully not result in duplications.
http://dw-maintenance.dreamwidth.org/51072.html Of course, this will only work for LJ users who didn't then summarily delete their content here after the import(s), but I don't think that should affect any of my readers. And it may take a while to get to the job once it is enqueued, but be patient. It will still be a lot faster to wait on the deletion then re-import, than to sift (in my case) a decade's worth of heavy posting to manually delete the uncommented duplicates, one post at a time.
