The intervals between updates are too long!
I need to get back into posting here so I can actually remember what it is I’ve done….
Elliott is my roommie- he moved in about 5 months ago, so it’s me, Elliott and Dillon. When I first met Dillon (Dale then) over 10 years ago, I NEVER would have guessed we’d be living in California together. Sometimes I need to step back and realize how good I have it.
I’m currently in preparation mode for the trip home in May. Elliott’s working a part time gig at Kaldi so we’ll have extra spending money. I’m trying to figure out better eating habits and going to the gym so I won’t be depressed on my 30th birthday. This is the biggest I’ve been EVAR and I don’t want to be this weight when I come into town. Even if I’ve lost a couple of pounds, I’ll be happy! My eventual goal is to get back to the weight I was when I moved out here, but that’ll take a bit of elbow grease.
This past weekend was pretty fun- Friday night was dinner with Dillon, then heading over to the UPS warehouse in Cerritos to pick up my highly anticipated purchase- An Alexander McQueen ring!!!! It’s as basic as a ring can get- a black enamel band with white enamel skulls. But it’s the only thing I can afford from the label.
Saturday was super lazy day- I slept most of the morning, then hung out with Jess. She’s been so busy with school that we’ve only seen each other once every month or so. Sufficed to say, it was quite the treat to see her lovely face and share cracked out good times. We ate dinner at At Last Café (complete with AMAZING apple almond cheesecake!), then moved onward to Auld Dubliner for cider. We spent Hours discussing all sorts of things, from boyfriends to back problems to astrology. At around 11pm, we headed over to my place so Jess could sober up. At around 1:30am, she headed out and I gratefully passed out.
Sunday was another passive day- Farmer’s Market, nap with Elliott, then lunch before Elliott had to leave for work. As soon as he left, I crawled back into bed with the cat and napped some more. There is something decadent about crawling in and out of bed throughout the day…. I have to remember that when I’m feeling restless and socially dissatisfied! Afterwards, I alternated chores and hobbies. Prep veggies, finish cheesy comedy movie, wash dishes, call Mom, prep fruit for the week, play Little Big Planet 2. Rinse and Repeat.
Now I’m going to have as relaxing a week as possible, since it’ll end with me getting a crown replaced (and potentially a root canal). Self imposed liquid diet for the weekend will follow!
