Yo, TreyHide! :O You weren't available today so I went and already made my intro post so everyone else can start theirs in case they want to start early. It's under teh lj-cut.
A hundred years can make a whole lot of difference. The first mistake was when they banned alcohol once again in the United States. It wasn't just the US though. Several other countries made similar mistakes. This led to the sudden new power for organized crime everywhere. Though they've been around for centuries, they reached their golden peak in the new year of 2106.
Technological advances have greatly improved over the years. For example, a space colony had been created on the moon. Even though it's still in its experimental stage, it has been proven that humans COULD live there. Many discourage great advances such as these, however, because of the rumors that most of these discoveries are sponsored by several organized crime groups, with their power and their money. One other example of this is the bustling field of gentics. But several citizens question the morality of this field because of another rumor that had been spread like wildfire. These scientists are experimenting on humans...and creating strange phoenomena...
This is the true era of the mafia. And this, is their story.
"Kiri..."
"Yes, Masi?"
"où est la princesse?"
"I...don't know where she is."
It was a general nice morning, cloudy, but no signs of rain. Two gentlemen were sitting in the chairs inside the Atlanta airport's waiting room, obviously waiting for someone. They were sitting alone for the most part. There were other people inside the waiting room, but they all seemed to have migrated away from the two. One younger looking child, not knowing any better, walked up to them anyway. She pointed at the one that looked slightly slimmer than the other, the one that had spoken in a different language, and asked. "Why are you wearing jewelry?"
"...Les bijoux? Je ne suis pas une fille." The man replied, an eyebrow turned up.
"Maslin, she's probably talking about your earring..." The other man, running his fingers through his navy hair, and sighed. The girl nodded with eyes filled with curiousity. Maslin, the man whose hair was more the color of ice and was about as smooth, blinked, and turned a smile.
"Ohhh, parlez-vous de ma boucle d'oreille? Ahaa....well, it's. A. Secret. But, if you want to kno--" His sentence stopped when he heard a loud smack towards his partner's direction. A woman, maybe in her thirties, had just slammed Kakira with her huge purse. The girl was hiding behind this woman, and the man who suffered damage was rubbing his head.
"What the hell, lady?! Why did you hit me like that?!"
The lady huffed, picking up her child, and hugging her closely. Her eyes were seething with hatred. "Don't talk to my baby! She's all I got left after YOU people took my family away."
"Us people...?" Kakira asked.
"That man next to you! His earring! Isn't that some kind of insignia?! It means that he's part of one of those damn crime groups, and you're probably his partner! Where's your sign?! I'll get your arrested, I'll...I'll...!" She screeched, catching the attention of all those around them. Kakira and Maslin, looking at each other, realized that this situation wouldn't get any better. Kakira stood up, shortly followed by Maslin, and walked right past the loud mother. Maslin stopped right next to the woman however and said quickly, ""Voulez-vous cesser de me cracher dessus pendant que vous parlez? Merci." With a smirk, he caught up to the other. When they were both far enough away from the waiting room, Kakira looked over to Maslin with those vibrant, sea green eyes.
"Did she really spit on you?"
Maslin looked back at Kakira with his own mischevious, lavender eyes. "Oui...mais...Je vous ai vu, doigts collants. Vous avez pris sa pochette."
"I didn't take her wallet...just the cash." Kakira replied, grinning inside. Both were being amused by this incident...until they both saw two people get off the plane. Maslin chuckled, somewhat nervously, and said out loud to no one in particular. "La princesse...she brought le prince..."
