Destroying the Past. *Locked to hunterventress *

Nov 14, 2005 19:13

It has been two standard days since he found himself landing on the Sith forsaken planet of Rattatak. Barren wasteland, couldn't even come close to describing this wretched place. But his never ending search brought him here and he wasn't about to turn away now because of some foolish lingering memories of the past. Though simular in some ways to ( Read more... )

For some reason her words gives Kanya a sense of relief. Though the Jedi have been nothing but kind to her, she finds no reason not to believe Asajj. After all the woman did save her from a certain death. Besides if these Jedi were indeed liars then the kindness shown to her was probably just a trap. Much like how the slavers would collect new slaves. The thought causes her to shiver as some of her first memories pertained to such captivity.

But Asajj's final words causes Kanya to study her for a moment in surprised silence. The Jedi said said she would make a good Padawan when she was first taken with them though she didn't know what exactly that meant. Yet as Asajj speaks of her being an apprentice somehow it strikes a familar chord and it seems to encourage her as she smiles looking a little hopeful.

You're going to teach me how to be a fighter?

Furrowing a brow she then realizes that she doesn't even know this woman's name nevermind anything else.

I am called Ratana Kanya. But I like being called Kanya best.

She states proudly once more wanting to show this dark lady she could be as strong and mature as she is.

"I'm going to teach you how to be a very good fighter. You will be as good as me." Which meant that the child would need a lightsaber and a good one at that. A red one. None of the colors of the Jedi.

"Well, Ratana Kanya, I am Asajj Ventress." She states simply giving a slight nod. "We're going back home."

Her eyes light up in eagerness as her smile widens. She wanted to be strong and after what she had seen of the dark warrior she was more then a little intrigued at the thought of becoming as good as she is.

When do I get to learn?

She asks quickly before going silent as Asajj introduces herself and tells her they are now going home. Glancing out the window she sighs softly in relief. Even if her home wasn't exactly peaceful it was certainly more safe then being always on the run, especially with her new master near she would finally have nothing to fear. Not even the dark man could harm her now.

I am glad to meet you Lady Asajj.

She says politely bowing slightly in traditions of greeting.

"It's getting late." Asajj states simply before watching out the window. Her eyes are dark, almost blank as she watches. "You'll start learning tomorrow. But before you train I'll allow you to make your own lightsaber."

The young child watches her closely as she tries to hide her dissipointment. The Dark Jedi's eyes seem hidden to her as though the woman is lost in thought. But this soon passes as she sighs softly feeling as though tomorrow is an eternity away. But at the invitation to create her own lightsaber Kanya instantly grins eager at the thought of having a weapon of her own.

I can really have one of my own?

I wasn't allowed to have one when I was with those Jedi, they said it was too dangerous for me.

She admits deciding being with Asajj was by far better then being with the strict fighters who were more concerned about keeping her out of trouble then showing her their skills.

"Yes. Tomorrow you will be making your own lightsaber. I will take you to pick crystals for it and then you'll make your own." She states giving the child a slight smile. A genuine smile for once.

Kanya's eyes shine with excitement to Asajj's words. She isn't sure why crystals are needed to make a sword but for the moment she is too excited to really care. At the woman's slight smile she grows a little shy though she returns it with one of her own.

I wish tomorrow was here right now.

She remarks as she glances out the window as though hoping to find something outside that would make time move faster.

"Tomorrow will come soon enough Kanya. So keep yourself calm until then." That nearly makes her laugh though. Calm? She's the dark Jedi that knows nothing of the word.

The child sighs deeply as she furrows her brow trying to make herself feel calm as her new master asks but it's just not happening. She tries not to fidget but it's hard and in frustration she makes herself sit on her hands and stare out the window like a proper adult would. This too doesn't to work as she casts the Dark Jedi an apologetic look of frustration.

It's hard...

"As it should be. Pay no heed to what they taught you." Asajj states simply. "Let it all go." And she didn't mean let it all go to the Force either. "Be yourself and it'll be fine."

Kanya stares at her for a moment her expression a look of curiousity and confusion. Let it all go? That certainly didn't match anything the others had said to her where control and calm were everything. It is an invitation she can't resist and soon she offers Asajj a relieved smile as though her remarks is an instruction she can't resist. Hopping down from her seat she begins to look around her surroundings curiously though careful not to touch anything as she does so.

Is this your ship?

She asks finally wondering if perhaps she had a master who owned it.

"This is my ship."

For Asajj's Master is dead. Ky Narec is dead. He'd been the Jedi who had trained her. Had taken her under his wing. He was dead because of the Jedi. And then there'd been Count Dooku. But he too was dead.

The little girl expression grows relaxed. Her words meant she had no master which mean she wasn't a slave. Kanya was still free and this brings the child joy. Moving around the room her attention soon turns elsewhere as she head to the door in the back eager to explore elsewhere.

Except there is no more exploring to be done. Because before long the ship lands. Her eyes look towards the little girl. "Let's go Kanya." Even though neither are slaves she's not leaving the girl to her own devices.

Kanya pauses as she steps back nodding slightly to the woman before her.

Are we home now?

She asks simply, wondering now just where exactly home is.

"We're home now."

And she takes Kanya from the ship and leads her down and to a plot of buildings taking her into one that is right in the middle of everything. It was home. For now.
