Destroying the Past. *Locked to hunterventress *

It has been two standard days since he found himself landing on the Sith forsaken planet of Rattatak. Barren wasteland, couldn't even come close to describing this wretched place. But his never ending search brought him here and he wasn't about to turn away now because of some foolish lingering memories of the past. Though simular in some ways to ( Read more... )

The child feels the force wave crash into her and driven by blind fear she turns and runs away desperate to reach the others, anything to warn them of this terrifying woman. She knows the Jedi woman would need help from the others and it is for this that she continues to run. Perhaps she could undo the danger she has brought onto them if she could get the others to come to her aid. Surely they could help...

Running as fast as she can she feels the terrifying rush of pain and sorrow once more, through the force she can hear the screams but this time she doesn't freeze to the sound. Instead it only causes her to run faster as she calls out her guardians names hoping, praying to whatever spirit guides maybe near that it isn't too late.

But as she enters the ruins the sight that greets the child causes her to stop dead in her tracks. Ahead rests the still forms of her new friends, Kara and Chimon and the older child named Agashi. Panicked she bolts forward towards them frantic to learn what had happened to the two adults.

However this answer too came in an unexpected fashion as she finds herself suddenly staring at a towering black form that now stands before her.

Staggering back Kanya mouth opens and closes in horror as she feels the waves darkness rolling off of him. But unlike the woman that had pulled her away before this one's energy is contained, wrapped around him much like the cape that hangs on his shoulders. While the Rattataki's Force signature screamed chaos this one spoke of control. Both powerful, each in their own way and both equally terrifying.

She doesnt' need to see the two Jedi Knights to know without question they are now dead just as she knows the woman outside that had tried to protect is now gone too. All hope is lost and once more she is again alone. Frozen in position she can only stare up at the form before her unsure what to do.

The dark being however says nothing as the hish hush of his respirator seems to resonate the aura of evil that surrounds him. A low whimper escapes her lips as she steps back quickly tripping over her own feet as she does so, causing her to land on her her bottom. She cries out helplessly to the one who has now fallen prey to Asajj's blade feeling the last of the knight's spirit slipping away into the force.

She knows her end is about to come soon but for some reason this doesn't give her fear as with new courage she feels herself being forced to her feet rather roughly by the black masked form.

Asajj slams her lightsabers into the woman, one lightsaber going through the woman's chest and another beheading the woman. Following where the child had gone she notes the hold that Vader had on the child and a lightsaber is suddenly at his throat. The child was from her home world. She'd take the child under her wing. She wasn't exactly full sith and she wasn't full Jedi but there was much that she could teach this youngling.

"Release her and we'll have no problems." There's malice in Ventress' voice. A promise of pain and death if her words were not listened to. "All are dead here. This one is mine to do with as I see fit seeing as they took her from my home." Was that compassion? Oh hell no. For Asajj had no compassion in her. Only darkness and insane amounts of chaos.

With incredible speed the Dark Jedi moves as once more the Dark Lord finds himself at the end of her blades. Turning his attentions to her chuckles softly.

Why do you care?

He states simply as Kanya watches the two dark beings in stunned silence. Chaos and order waging battle darkness versus darkness. But her young mind can make no sense of the internal battle. For the moment all she feels is relief as the dark man's grip on her form is released. Backing away she decides to once more flee hoping that their argument would buy her some time to escape.

"Who said I cared? There's a lot that she could be useful for."

And a Force hold from Asajj keeps Kanya from going anywhere. She can easily cause enough chaos right now that it isn't funny and it would be chaos that Vader, himself, wouldn't know what to do with. Her chaos becomes worse than what it had been and her eyes narrow slightly. The dark man was getting on her nerves and making her darkness even worse.

He senses she is rapidly losing herself into her rage. A folly that most would take advantage of, but then he is no fool and he knows that chaos is where her true strength lies. She is more trouble then it's worth and with his mission now completed he really sees no point in remaining here. If she wanted the child so badly, then so be it. Though the little one was definately powerful in the force, she lacked the strength and control he wanted in an apprentice. As such he backs down casting Asajj a brief glance as he does so.

Very well do with her as you please. I have done what I came here for and that is all that matters.

He states simply watching in some amusement as Kanya's sneak escape wasn't so successful as she is soon held in place despite her obvious frustration and panicked attempts to break free from Asajj's grip. Foolish child you will learn soon enough such resistance is futile he muses.

And she would do as she pleased with the child. With or without his permission. She needed no one's permission to do whatever she wanted to.

"Good then you'll no longer need me. Until I find more Jedi." Asajj states with a slight smirk.

He frowns at her words noting her smirk and wanting to do nothing else then wipe it off her face. But now isn't the time nor is it the place. He had other places to be, other prey to hunt and soon his master would be returning to their base with news of another mission he is to complete.

My work here is done then.

He says simply as he walks past her ignoring the child that still remains frozen in place as departs for his ship once more.

And she heads back to her own ship keeping the child in tow. She'd take the child right back to their homeworld. Would teach the child her ways and push everything the Jedi had taught the child out of the way. For the Jedi were nothing.

The child follows her quietly curious now as to how quickly things had changed and feeling more then a little lost because of it. As they enter the ship the little one finds a little of her bravery as she meekly looks up at the strange woman before her.

...Why did you and the dark man kill them? They weren't bad like the others. What did they do to make you so angry?

She asks in confusion as she tries to understand their actions, to make sense of them. The ones who took her in were neither slavers or warlords. Which left her lost as to why they were killed.

Asajj's eyes turn towards the young child. There was a hardness in her eyes. "Those things abandoned me and my Master when I was being trained as a Jedi. They are abominations. They do nothing but lie." And her voice hardens as she says those words. The Jedi were someone she hated. They had left her and her Master to die. Her Master had died and Count Dooku had found her and trained her. Though she'd never become a true Sith.

The child's eyes widen in shock. She never knew this about her new 'friends' and it furthers her confusion as she stares at her hands for a moment. The hard edge in the woman's voice and eyes frightens her but she doesn't run or try to hide. After all where could she hide to anyways? Biting her lip Kanya places her hands behind her back as she had seen the warrior that Asajj had killed often do as she tries to appear more brave then she feels. She is a big girl now and does not want this strange woman to think less of her for being weak.

...Why, why did they lie to you?

She asks again trying to sound as adult like as she can yet careful to keep her eyes away from Asajj lest she see the anger that is in her eyes.

But the child is just that. A child. She'll never sound adult like. "They lie to everyone they come in contact with." She states simply. "The Jedi knows only to lie. If they actually knew how to speak the truth it would be a surprise." Her anger towards the Jedi can be felt like a whirlwind.

This silences her as the whirlwind of anger floods the childs thoughts causing her to stare at Asajj for a moment before she finds herself looking out the window of the ship. Her thoughts turn to the dark man she had encountered earlier and with it comes more questions. But one thing is certain she'd rather be with the dark lady then him. She can understand why he killed the Jedi warriors, especially if they were such liars. But Kara and Chimon? They were probably no older then she was and now they are dead because of him. Frowning she murmurs quietly.

I don't like your friend. He isn't very nice.

She pauses casting her a shy glance before looking away as a hint of a smile crosses her pale features.

Thank you for not letting him kill me.

She wants to ask why she was spared but she decides now is not the time and soon she is silent once more.

"He is far from being my friend. The man is not my friend and never will be. We just have common goals. To get rid of the Jedi."

Asajj puts the ship on autopilot and turns looking towards the young girl. "You'll be a great apprentice. That is the only reason why I spared you from the dark man."

For some reason her words gives Kanya a sense of relief. Though the Jedi have been nothing but kind to her, she finds no reason not to believe Asajj. After all the woman did save her from a certain death. Besides if these Jedi were indeed liars then the kindness shown to her was probably just a trap. Much like how the slavers would collect new slaves. The thought causes her to shiver as some of her first memories pertained to such captivity.

But Asajj's final words causes Kanya to study her for a moment in surprised silence. The Jedi said said she would make a good Padawan when she was first taken with them though she didn't know what exactly that meant. Yet as Asajj speaks of her being an apprentice somehow it strikes a familar chord and it seems to encourage her as she smiles looking a little hopeful.

You're going to teach me how to be a fighter?

Furrowing a brow she then realizes that she doesn't even know this woman's name nevermind anything else.

I am called Ratana Kanya. But I like being called Kanya best.

She states proudly once more wanting to show this dark lady she could be as strong and mature as she is.

"I'm going to teach you how to be a very good fighter. You will be as good as me." Which meant that the child would need a lightsaber and a good one at that. A red one. None of the colors of the Jedi.

"Well, Ratana Kanya, I am Asajj Ventress." She states simply giving a slight nod. "We're going back home."
