Destroying the Past. *Locked to hunterventress *

It has been two standard days since he found himself landing on the Sith forsaken planet of Rattatak. Barren wasteland, couldn't even come close to describing this wretched place. But his never ending search brought him here and he wasn't about to turn away now because of some foolish lingering memories of the past. Though simular in some ways to ( Read more... )

The Jedi eyes grow hard at the sound of the voice. Focusing her thoughts into the force she uses it to sense the presence of the one who speaks but there is no detectable aura to be found.

A short cry is heard and the fighter realizes the child had come out of her trance like state and is startled by the fact she isn't alone. Her heart softens at the little one as the child’s cryptic words still lingers in her thoughts. If we are to die so be it, so long as the children are unharmed she thinks before whispering to Kanya.

"Kanya return to the camp, quickly."

The little girl looks up at her in confusion but the silent affirmation in the woman's eyes tells her now is not the time to argue and so she takes off back in the direction she has come.

Turning her attentions now to the voice she draws her blade.

Show yourself.

She states firmly sensing a darkness but unsure where it is coming from.

Elsewhere the Dark Lord enters the ancient ruins in silence catching his prey though watchful, still completely off guard. From where he stood hidden on a ledge that overlooked the lower levels of the buildings main floor there were two trained Jedi, a Padawan and two younglings. While the two masters stood guarded they were pensive obviously watchful but not yet expecting the trouble that has reached them. The Padawan meanwhile practices her training as the two younglings seem focused on enhancing their skills. There were two others he senses one obviously trained and possibly titled a master the other far too young to even be considered anything more then an untrained youngling. Though the Jedi knight could have been a nice challenge he has no doubt that the woman’s focused thoughts are being channeled towards the unseeing threat that is Asajj. This meant she would not be alive for long, which was guaranteed.

Returning his attentions to the Jedi below him the Sith Lord begins to channel his anger and hatred drinking from its power as though it were sweet but toxic nectar. As the tendrils of darkness surrounds Lord Vader lets it reach out from him and slowly wrap around the two younglings throats as through their mediations they feel the darkness encompassing them. Their eyes snap open but not a sound escapes their throats as the tendrils tighten cutting off their air supply.

It is a treacherous thing to do but one that he deems necessary. He wants the Jedi to fall prey to their own pious judgments to know what is like to feel helpless with rage and pain. To be forced to stand by and be able to do nothing. He knows without question they will fall into the darkness just as he did that fateful day. When they do, he will strike, ending their pitiful existence.

The masters notice immediately what is happening to the younglings and they move promptly to try to stop the unseeing tendrils that are wrapped tightly around them. Their techniques though powerful seem to have no effect. One moves swiftly away to track down the source of the attack while the other continues to struggle against the force choke that the Sith Lord has unleashed.

The Padawan too helps her master as they try to transfer their energy into saving the younglings, but it is too late. They fall to the ground and the Jedi knight says nothing but through the Force Darth Vader can feel him succumbing, struggling against the growing sorrow and rage that builds within him. The Padawan openly weeps over the two forms but soon the master draws him away as Vader hears him speak.

We must stop this threat before it finds the others or their deaths will be in vain.

The Padawan shakes her head weeping as she sobs cursing the one who would dare to harm helpless younglings, swearing revenge. The darkness pours over the Padawan in waves and he smirks at the sight. However in his haste he briefly loses track of the second knight and almost pays for it dearly as he barely side steps the Jedi’s attack from behind.

Drawing his own lightsaber he moves quickly and prepares to do battle.

“Only a coward and a monster slaughter younglings.”

The Jedi states coldly to which Darth Vader laughs. They had fallen right into his trap and now he would show them the error of their ways.

Except Kanya doesn't get far at all. Asajj Force pulls the child to her and once the girl is with her, her eyes narrow slightly. "Stay put." And she uses her own dialect to talk to the girl. "The Jedi are scum. You do not want anything to do with them." She states yet again in her own dialect.

Asajj steps out igniting both of her lightsabers, eyes on the Jedi woman before her, a smirk on her features.

The child cries out in terror as she feels her body being pulled in a direction she hadn't intended on going. The Jedi fighter moves to her aid using her own skills in the force to stop the child's movement. But it is to no avail.

She is but a youngling, hardly a threat to you.

She retorts approaching the emerging Dark Jedi her expression growing more determined as she prepares to do battle.

Kanya's eyes widen as she finds herself staring at a figure that is familar and yet not. She never expected to see one of her people here of all places but to Asajj's instructions she goes silent. Her eyes flit over to the woman who now takes a battle stance as she tries not to weep. She is frightened for the Jedi knight and inwardly blames herself for having brought this upon her. If only she hadn't been drawn outside. If only the spirit guides hadn't called to her. Closing her eyes the young child tries not to weep as she remembers the very rudimentry training she had recieved only a couple of weeks earlier.

Always mind your surroundings Kanya, and it will be used to your advantage.

She moves slightly back careful to stay out of the grounds of battle as she tries reach out through the force to the older Jedi's hoping they will sense the danger that has befallen the female warrior.

But there is no response even worse is the strange waves of sorrow and sudden loss that grips her soul. She knows something terrible has happened but she can't say what it is. Stunned by the rush of emotions she remains frozen as the tears spill down her cheeks. They had to be alright, they have to be safe...They promised her everything would be alright...That she would be safe with them...So what is happening to them now?

He continues his battle with the Jedi relishing in his anger and sorrow. He is skilled that is for certain but even so he still didn't stand much chance against the Sith Lord. His anger blinded him and without training in the dark side he had no way of controlling it. For unlike Ventress he too fell prey to order and now it was costing the Jedi his stance and footing.

From behind the Padawan and her master soon arrived to help their colleague destroy the threat before them. However now expecting their presence Darth Vader did not hesitate to ensure the upper hand would not be in their favor.

With a slight of his wrist he sends the Padawan to her death, as she rushes forward with her Lightsaber blazing, only to be thrown off the edge of the broken parapet that stands high above the main floor. Landing hard her neck is instantly broken and soon her form is but a lifeless shell.

Her master on the other hand doesn't so easily fall victim to his emotions though the struggle has now grown far worse. One more push, one more decisive move and he too would join her. But for now he would humor the Jedi knights and take them both to battle.

Asajj cares nothing for the child's emotions and her Force signature suddenly slams out like a heated wave. Throughout the whole entire planet. To the dark Jedi it was something that was welcome to them, to the Jedi it was something to fear. It meant that she had no control. That there was lack of that and boy did she lack control. But that wasn't entirely a good thing.

"You do not steal children from my homeworld." The dark Jedi snaps out before attacking the Jedi. The woman is a formidible foe. Each thrust and parry met minus one. The one parry that had faltered and one of her lightsabers slice into the woman's side causing the Jedi to stumble backwards.

The child feels the force wave crash into her and driven by blind fear she turns and runs away desperate to reach the others, anything to warn them of this terrifying woman. She knows the Jedi woman would need help from the others and it is for this that she continues to run. Perhaps she could undo the danger she has brought onto them if she could get the others to come to her aid. Surely they could help...

Running as fast as she can she feels the terrifying rush of pain and sorrow once more, through the force she can hear the screams but this time she doesn't freeze to the sound. Instead it only causes her to run faster as she calls out her guardians names hoping, praying to whatever spirit guides maybe near that it isn't too late.

But as she enters the ruins the sight that greets the child causes her to stop dead in her tracks. Ahead rests the still forms of her new friends, Kara and Chimon and the older child named Agashi. Panicked she bolts forward towards them frantic to learn what had happened to the two adults.

However this answer too came in an unexpected fashion as she finds herself suddenly staring at a towering black form that now stands before her.

Staggering back Kanya mouth opens and closes in horror as she feels the waves darkness rolling off of him. But unlike the woman that had pulled her away before this one's energy is contained, wrapped around him much like the cape that hangs on his shoulders. While the Rattataki's Force signature screamed chaos this one spoke of control. Both powerful, each in their own way and both equally terrifying.

She doesnt' need to see the two Jedi Knights to know without question they are now dead just as she knows the woman outside that had tried to protect is now gone too. All hope is lost and once more she is again alone. Frozen in position she can only stare up at the form before her unsure what to do.

The dark being however says nothing as the hish hush of his respirator seems to resonate the aura of evil that surrounds him. A low whimper escapes her lips as she steps back quickly tripping over her own feet as she does so, causing her to land on her her bottom. She cries out helplessly to the one who has now fallen prey to Asajj's blade feeling the last of the knight's spirit slipping away into the force.

She knows her end is about to come soon but for some reason this doesn't give her fear as with new courage she feels herself being forced to her feet rather roughly by the black masked form.

Asajj slams her lightsabers into the woman, one lightsaber going through the woman's chest and another beheading the woman. Following where the child had gone she notes the hold that Vader had on the child and a lightsaber is suddenly at his throat. The child was from her home world. She'd take the child under her wing. She wasn't exactly full sith and she wasn't full Jedi but there was much that she could teach this youngling.

"Release her and we'll have no problems." There's malice in Ventress' voice. A promise of pain and death if her words were not listened to. "All are dead here. This one is mine to do with as I see fit seeing as they took her from my home." Was that compassion? Oh hell no. For Asajj had no compassion in her. Only darkness and insane amounts of chaos.

With incredible speed the Dark Jedi moves as once more the Dark Lord finds himself at the end of her blades. Turning his attentions to her chuckles softly.

Why do you care?

He states simply as Kanya watches the two dark beings in stunned silence. Chaos and order waging battle darkness versus darkness. But her young mind can make no sense of the internal battle. For the moment all she feels is relief as the dark man's grip on her form is released. Backing away she decides to once more flee hoping that their argument would buy her some time to escape.

"Who said I cared? There's a lot that she could be useful for."

And a Force hold from Asajj keeps Kanya from going anywhere. She can easily cause enough chaos right now that it isn't funny and it would be chaos that Vader, himself, wouldn't know what to do with. Her chaos becomes worse than what it had been and her eyes narrow slightly. The dark man was getting on her nerves and making her darkness even worse.

He senses she is rapidly losing herself into her rage. A folly that most would take advantage of, but then he is no fool and he knows that chaos is where her true strength lies. She is more trouble then it's worth and with his mission now completed he really sees no point in remaining here. If she wanted the child so badly, then so be it. Though the little one was definately powerful in the force, she lacked the strength and control he wanted in an apprentice. As such he backs down casting Asajj a brief glance as he does so.

Very well do with her as you please. I have done what I came here for and that is all that matters.

He states simply watching in some amusement as Kanya's sneak escape wasn't so successful as she is soon held in place despite her obvious frustration and panicked attempts to break free from Asajj's grip. Foolish child you will learn soon enough such resistance is futile he muses.

And she would do as she pleased with the child. With or without his permission. She needed no one's permission to do whatever she wanted to.

"Good then you'll no longer need me. Until I find more Jedi." Asajj states with a slight smirk.

He frowns at her words noting her smirk and wanting to do nothing else then wipe it off her face. But now isn't the time nor is it the place. He had other places to be, other prey to hunt and soon his master would be returning to their base with news of another mission he is to complete.

My work here is done then.

He says simply as he walks past her ignoring the child that still remains frozen in place as departs for his ship once more.

And she heads back to her own ship keeping the child in tow. She'd take the child right back to their homeworld. Would teach the child her ways and push everything the Jedi had taught the child out of the way. For the Jedi were nothing.

The child follows her quietly curious now as to how quickly things had changed and feeling more then a little lost because of it. As they enter the ship the little one finds a little of her bravery as she meekly looks up at the strange woman before her.

...Why did you and the dark man kill them? They weren't bad like the others. What did they do to make you so angry?

She asks in confusion as she tries to understand their actions, to make sense of them. The ones who took her in were neither slavers or warlords. Which left her lost as to why they were killed.

Asajj's eyes turn towards the young child. There was a hardness in her eyes. "Those things abandoned me and my Master when I was being trained as a Jedi. They are abominations. They do nothing but lie." And her voice hardens as she says those words. The Jedi were someone she hated. They had left her and her Master to die. Her Master had died and Count Dooku had found her and trained her. Though she'd never become a true Sith.

The child's eyes widen in shock. She never knew this about her new 'friends' and it furthers her confusion as she stares at her hands for a moment. The hard edge in the woman's voice and eyes frightens her but she doesn't run or try to hide. After all where could she hide to anyways? Biting her lip Kanya places her hands behind her back as she had seen the warrior that Asajj had killed often do as she tries to appear more brave then she feels. She is a big girl now and does not want this strange woman to think less of her for being weak.

...Why, why did they lie to you?

She asks again trying to sound as adult like as she can yet careful to keep her eyes away from Asajj lest she see the anger that is in her eyes.

Re: *Kanya* hunterventress November 16 2005, 01:49:25 UTC
But the child is just that. A child. She'll never sound adult like. "They lie to everyone they come in contact with." She states simply. "The Jedi knows only to lie. If they actually knew how to speak the truth it would be a surprise." Her anger towards the Jedi can be felt like a whirlwind.
