Keiko doesn't bother looking up as she continues her scans over the commlinks associated with the Alliance main headquarters. The womans bouncy and friendly demeanor is easily ignorable most of the time but at this hour it only serves to agitate her mood further. As if on cue another firewall suddenly pops up on her screen and blockades her just as she is almost about to tap into Intendant Dukat's link and she curses loudly sitting back in her seat with a sigh.

...So close...Seems someone has taken the liberty of upping his security. Not surprised, but it's still a piss off.

She says in response to Leeta's question before snorting in reply as the Bajoran woman jokes about their captain.

Hmph not if he values his life he won't...

Motioning to another screen she frowns while studying the Cardassian who is just finishing up his acceptance speach.

Apparently the Regent as decided that its time for another Intendant to take over Bajor. Lucky us. If thats no enough it sounds like they have something up their sleeve and believe me I'm not eager to find out what htat is...

Leeta laughs.

You have to admire his persistence, Keiko. Although I just don't see the attraction. Sisko was cuter.

She sees what's on the screen and grows a little more sober.

Frakk. At least they didn't send us a Klingon.

Leeta frowns, sitting on the desk and crossing her legs.

I bet they'll want the Station back now that they've got an Intendent again.

Keiko smirks.

Yeah well at least he isn't as scummy as Sisko is either.

Folding her arms she studies the screen as her expression grows dark to Leeta's words.

Thats what I'm afraid of...I just hope our fearless leader has something up his sleave or we're all screwed.

As if on cue the commlink activates as the terse voice of captain Bashir comes through.

Keiko, I need updates on all recent Alliance military communications right away.

Keiko rolls her eyes as she casts Leeta a glance shaking her head.

confirmed I'll be on it, but it will take some time I imagine the lines are buzzing like a hive.

Bashir's voice grows sharp as he retorts.

We need this information now, as in yesterday. Bashir out.

The line goes dead as seh sighs softly before beginning to work her "magic" on the firewalls guarding the highly classified Military links.

Unbelievable, who does he think I am? Some sort of Oni who grants wishes...Oh look here click your heels three times and poof all the information you need on military movement is on your desk...

She remarks sarcastically to Leeta as she continues her work as quick as possible.

Leeta listens to the communication from Bashir with a serious frown, then smiles at Keiko's grumbling.

He just knows how good you are, Ishikawa. It'd be worse if nobody gave us any work to do at all, wouldn't it?

...don't answer that. At least then we might get some sleep.

She slides off the desk and into the seat beside her partner.

I think I know why he's stopped coming around here looking for sex, though. He's hooked up with that new Dax. That's what everyone at the canteen is saying, anyway.

You need any help with that?

She gestures to Keiko's work.

Keiko casts her a sharp look to her remarks about no work as she snorts in reply.

Frankly if it means a decent night of sleep I'm about ready to do almost anything. Almost.

AT the mention of Julian finding a new woman she raises a brow as she casts Leeta an interested look.

Do tell when did this happen?

Turning her attentions back to her task at hand she catches Leeta's question and shakes her head slightly before pausing.

No I'm fine...On second thought...I could use a hand filtering out the messages...

Leeta makes a face, then nods and connects her console to what Keiko is doing.

That's really repetitive work, but anything to keep Bashir from biting our heads off.

She shrugs, getting into the gossip as she works.

Apparently they've been shacking up for a while now. I'm not sure when it started, but our fearless leader seems to be happily disregarding that rule the Trills have about sleeping with new hosts.

Leeta lowers her voice and casts a look over her shoulder in case someone else is around, although Ops is mostly deserted just now.

I always thought he and Jadzia got together because of the rivalry he and Sisko had going. You know, she was the Captain's, so Bashir wanted her. But now I wonder.

She smirks.

Then again, who wouldn't sleep with a Dax?

Keiko listens with interest as she chuckles softly shaking her head.

Just like him to through caution and common sense to the wind huh?

She grins.

Thats exactly what I was thinking...Though now I'm curious she couldn't have really gotten to him could she? that would certainly be amusing to say the least. Still I can't picture our fearless leader settling down can you?"

Her final remarks causes her to laugh softly.

Well I imagine with all those lifetimes of experience they'd sure to knwo what they're doing. although the thought of having a worm peeking in on me doesn't sound too appealing either...

Bashir settling down? You have got to be kidding me.

Leeta grins.

Hey, I'd take the experience. It might be worth knowing there was a slug in there. And, you know, those spots they have...

She smiles dreamily, thinking of the one or two unJoined Trill lovers she's had. Then--

Hey, wait a minute. Tell me that's a glitch in the information stream, and not what I think it is....

Keiko laughs.

Yeah it will be a cold day in hell thats for sure...

She makes a face and raises a brow, though she is obviously joking

The spots I can understand...The slug? thats just too wierd for me...You can keep it.

At Leeta's observation she snaps right back to business as she quickly scans the screen her fingers flying over the keyboard.

Sorry to say I think you just found something...and it's not good...

She says frowning as she tries to crack the code blockign it.

Leeta mutters several unsavoury Bajoran phrases under her breath.

I guess Bashir was right after all. Too much to hope it's a brigade of naked Trills coming to help us out, eh?

Keiko deadpans as she casts Leeta a sharp glance.

Only you would think of hot Trills in the middle of a big mess like this...unbelievable!

She shakes her head as she tries to track the location of the anomoly and get a possible audio.

Leeta smirks fleetingly, then is all business.

Hey, I do what I can. I save the rest of you from boredom, you have to admit that. If we die, at least we've had a laugh or two beforehand.

She adjusts the feed on her console and the transmission clears up a bit, not enough to tell quite what they're saying but enough to get the origin and destination codes.

Looks like a communication between Cardassia and Bajor. It's official Alliance military stuff, all right.

Keiko raises a brow to her friends remarks unable resist a smirk.

Your far too cheery for your own good you know that?

She seems about to make another joke but stops as Leeta's sudden discovery of the origans causes her to snap back to attention as well.

Quickly typing in some more codes she attempts to tap into the audio frequency and if possible visuals as well.

Come on...just a little bit more...

She murmers as the sounds begin to become clearer.

Leeta frowns over the keypad, furiously trying to get as much information as possible before they are shut out of the system.

It looks like something being transmitted to Dakhur...from...

Frack! I'm losing it...OK, it's coming back...they keep changing the cyphers, though--we're going to lose it in a minute or two.

Anything useful on the visuals?

Keiko too keeps trying to break through the endless firewalls and blocks and for a moment it looks positive as she grins.

There almost have it...Definately from Dakhur...Now to get a voice an image anything...

Suddenly without warning she hits a security clearance that instantly causes a blackout in her computer as everything shuts down immediately leaving a very furious Keiko behind the monitors.

FRAK IT ALL!!

She growls slamming a fist against the arm of her chair as she rises quickly causing it to fall behind her.

They shut us down those bastards!

Leeta jumps back from the computer as it emits a few sparks. She looks around at all the dead monitor screens.

Fracking Alliance security! That'll take us a while to get everything up and running again.

She sighs and pushes her chair back from the console.

But frankly, Keiko, I'm willing to leave that to somebody else to fix. It's about time Torres and Howard got some work done around here, anyway, wouldn't you say?

She stands up, stretching, considering whether she's hungry enough to put off sleep for a little longer and eat.
