Rukia hadn't heard Rikku or Luke... the sound of her own blood rushing to her head and her heartbeat pouding in her ears was all she could hear.

Comfort? He wasn't offering comfort. He was misinterpreting things and telling his brother lies! Unless... her stomach lurched. Did Edgar think she was not worth it? Did he think that Sabin needed comfort because... he liked her?! She was trying so hard to connect the dots in her head in a logical manner but the adreniline was already pumping and she was too frightened to back down now

Thank GOD he had abs of steel or that might have hurt more than it had, "Wha?!" He coughed and then lying under him for a moment he trembled. He was angry ...Rukia had been right in her previous statements as his eyes narrowed and his partially gloved hand reached back and he gave a nice love tap to his jaw.

"What the hell!" He coughed and then his knee launched up into Edgars stomach. Hard! "You want to fight then lets go Edgar!" It was his pride now that had been hit. He had been trying to help Edgar out as much as possible. But, now he was just being a brat...Old Luke came out.

In the wake of Edgar's charge Rikku had been knocked back into the wall. She squeaked as she hit it and then groaned a little, slumping to the ground and rubbing the back of her head. "... Owwie..." She looked up at Rukia, and her eyes widened. Had her sword just transformed or something? Oh god, it had!

Anger was practically rolling off Rukia, and Rikku could almost feel it. She wrapped her arms around herself, backing away down the hall with her back still pressed to the wall. She stopped, realizing that it didn't matter if she moved or not. She gulped and looked up at the injured girl. "R-Rukia?"

Her eyes then snapped to Luke and Edgar, who were on the ground beside her. Edgar had blood all over his face, and Luke had just made it worse by kneeing him. She gripped her arms tightly, nails digging into her own soft flesh.

Rukia glanced over at Rikku. Normally she would have smiled at the girl but instead she merely stared at her, as if wondering what she wanted.

Edgar grimaced as Luke's fist clipped his jaw and gasped as his knee connected with his stomach. Hearing rather than seeing Rikku, hit the wall, Edgar pushing the redhead away from him and moved between Luke and the girl. Wiping away most of the blood, he risked a quick glance over his shoulder to the clearly frightened blonde girl and gave her a tight smile.

"M'Lady, are you alright? He didn't hurt you, did he?"

She quickly shook her head, using the wall for support as she stood. Edgar didn't look as bad as she'd thought, and for that she was grateful. The sight of anyone's blood made her woozy. "N-no, I'm alright," she managed. Five crescent-shaped marks - ten in total - had appeared on each of her arms from her grip with her nails. She rubbed her forearms, glancing over at Rukia and shuddering slightly at the girl's blank stare. What was wrong with everyone today?

Edgar looked at her arms, concern evident on his face. "Are you sure, my dear? Just... I'll take care of you in a moment, I promise."

He turned back to face Luke just as the redhead grabbed him by the shirt.

"OH MY GOD." Luke rolled his eyes and stood up grabbing at his stomach as he narrowed his eyes at Edgar. "You see me? I didn't do anything?!" He was angry with the other, "You are a jerk!You jump to too many fucking conclusions!" He grabbed him as he was pushed away and threw him down, "You have me to deal with now Edgar! Rikku is fine we were trying to stop you two!"

Rukia frowned at that and her sword relaxed a bit.

"You two should stay out of this! You don't understand!"

Edgar's attention returned to Luke as the redhead threw him to the ground. Landing with a muttered curse, Edgar looked up at his... assailant, and scrambled to his feet. He could feel the anger in him rising; Here Luke was, trying to tell him that he and Rikku were on their way to help. Did he think Edgar was stupid? He had heard what she said, had seen her try and pull away. If there was one type of person Edgar had no patience for, it was someone who treated a Lady like property.

Facing Luke, he dropped into the unarmed combat stance both his Weapons master and Makoto had taught him. Ready to receive Luke's attack, he shook his head.

"Look, Luke, I don't want to hurt you, and I don't want to call you a liar, but I know what I saw. Back off before you get hurt."

Rukia fumed and suddenly her foot was connecting with the back of Edgar's head. She stood over him, hands on her hips.

"STOP ASSUMING THINGS YOU IDIOT!"

"NO. YOU back off Edgar you have no idea what was going on. Rikku was going to sit there and watch you two beat the shit out of each other!" He narrowed his eyes, "I'll explain it later so if you wanna beat on me Go ahead but that just shows you don't know what you're talking about!"

Looking at Rukia, Luke chastized her,"You have no right to hit Edgar and he has no right to be angry with you. IT IS a huge misunderstanding Rukia. All of you should cool your JETS ...Hitting him in the face and then his rash behavior towards me has me at my wits end with you people. FRIENDS SHOULD LISTEN TO EACH OTHER!" Luke shouted. It was bound to get others involved ...especially with Luke's temper.

Rukia glared at Luke, she couldn't even stop the trembling now it was so bad.

"Luke-san... I have every right to hit him. I chose to give up everything to stay here and be with his brother and he chooses to go around telling his brother things that could ruin everything. I will not lay down and take this! He assumes too much! I may not be nobility by birth... but for him to assume that I am not worth his brother so much that he must go to comfort his brother?! Wouldn't you be angry, too?!" She asked him then, sure that Luke, too, would be upset if someone had done that to him.

Turning to look at Edgar his eyes narrowed at him as he took a step back towards Rukia, "Rukia I don't think he meant it that way. It's not fair of us to jump to conclusions either. Then it makes you no better than Edgar right now." He looked to her and then back to Edgar.

"Do you see what all this miscommunication has cost you Edgar? It cost you a bloody nose and possibly one less friend." That was all he said as he murmered, "I don't know if I want to be around someone who can't listen to his friends or trust them..."

Sabin walked into the boys dorm, unsure as to what Edgar had wanted to talk about, fearing that Rukia had said something to him about their discussion at Yuuko's office that she hadn't wanted to tell him. A sudden commotion from near Edgar's room sent him running, hoping that nothing was wrong.

As he rounded the corner, he saw Rukia kick Edgar in the back of the head and was stunned. On hearing her justification, though, his face darkened. Taking a deep breath, he positioned himself in the middle of the hallway and bellowed, his voice loud enough to be heard over the gales of Mt. Koltz' peak.

"What the hell is going on here?"

Luke stopped and then looked to Sabin his eyes softening and then he looked back to Edgar and then to Rikku, "See...Things will get solved sooner or later. I hope you're happy with the way you have acted Edgar." With that he would try to leave his hand on his stomach...He was going to be sporting a NICE bruise later..He was sure of it.
