When a majority of students had congregated in the computer lab, Motoko took it as a sign that it was time to begin. She stood from the chair in the front of the class and spoke in a clear tone, "Class, I'm Motoko Kusanagi--Call me Kusanagi. I'll be your computer hacking teacher." That was the end of the traditional formalities.
"First of all, let's be clear about this: I'm here by force and not by choice. However, I was assigned to this and therefor I'll teach you a little bit about working your way around computers...Within the lines of breaking them anyway." She didn't really know what could be accomplished with these old things, though; every time she looked at them the same disappointed and unsatisfied leer.
"I suppose we're going to have to spend quite a bit of time with one another. So how about each one of you give me a name to call you by."
