It had been thirty-nine days since his arrival on the island. For Naruto it had been twenty-nine, and already the idiot had managed to get himself lost... assuming he was still on the island at all.
The thought that he had managed to learn what he needed to learn and had left already disturbed him, for more reasons than one. He didn't want to admit that Naruto's appearance here had put him more at ease or that it was more of a good thing than a bad thing that he'd shown up, but to say otherwise would've been a lie. Besides, that dumbass getting off the island first? Impossible. He continued his walk, hands shoved in his pockets as usual.
If Naruto was close by, he was sure to sense him before he saw him.
