Atem almost jumped at the sound of a voice, having failed to sense the presence of anyone approaching. When he whirled around, it took a moment to locate the sound of the voice, and he relaxed a bit; it was a kid, and no doubt one of the past selves of someone here. Either way, he was likely harmless, and he seemed pretty excited.

Realizing what he'd asked, Atem almost smiled, amused and shaking his head slightly. "Not quite." He answered.

Atem blinked once, and then almost laughed. How cute. Of course, he wasn't entirely sure how to respond; he was sort of important, but 'cool' was another thing entirely. "Ah, well..."

This kid was so enthusiastic, that Atem just couldn't help it. He had to play along a bit. "Perhaps." He said, then gave him a mock-serious look. "But if that were the case, it would be a secret, and you couldn't tell anyone."

Atem chuckled; this kid really was cute. For someone who, generally, hated kids, Atem was finding it really difficult to dislike most of the ones here during this event. "Alright then, if you promise." Atem said, making a bit of a show of glancing around to make certain they were alone before informing the boy, "I'm on a secret mission." And he paused for the reaction, meanwhile trying to think up a 'secret mission' to be on.

Thinking of something quickly, Atem went for pseudo-truth. "I'm working on a spell, but it might be dangerous for anyone to find out about it."

And it was back to making things up. Atem wasn't about to explain what he was actually doing, so he came up with something that he thought would make the kid happy. "It's a spell to help protect my kingdom, when I go home again."

Atem chuckled again at the applause. Who knew this would make the kid so happy? Shaking his head, he explained a bit more. "No, this isn't my kingdom. I'm from..." He wondered for a moment where this kid was from; he may not even know the locations of his world. Oh well, he'd just explain it if he didn't. "Have you heard of ancient Egypt? It's similar to that." Or exactly like it. Same difference.

Hm. Something about the remark sparked something in Atem's memory, but he wasn't sure what. Smiling again, he gave another nod. "Just like that, yes."
