HALLOWEEN EVENT // The Courtyard

The courtyard in front of the Administrative Building and the library now features a very sharp (and fully functional) guillotine that seems to have seen quite its share of use. The fountain, once feeding forth a rain of clean water, now seems to be showering a glowing green goop that's hiding who-knows-what in the depths of the fountain basin. (On ( Read more... )

How very strange. Nia was quite certain that just five minutes ago, she and Simon were walking through the school hallways to the cafeteria for lunch. Granted, she still had a lot to explore and learn about DaiGurren High School, but she was still fairly positive that the double doors labeled 'cafeteria' did not lead to an eerie courtyard with a fountain of green goo ( ... )

Simon wasn't as cool about this. He saw the green goo--ohgoditwaspoisonouswhatifitwasemittingpoisonousfumesandtheydiedorsomething--he saw the setting--thiswaslikeabadhorrormovieAnikiwouldforcehimtowatchwhenhewastryingtostudy--and, of course, he saw the guillotine.

His head darted back and forth trying to take it all in. Okay, so far? He had a) They had been eaten, b) They were not in DaiGurren High anymore, and c) This was totally not his uniform. No, he was dressed in a black suit, now. It looked worn and battered, but still pretty damn sharp. He couldn't see it, but he could feel fangs in his mouth. Whatever was going on, this wasn't normal. Why did it have to be them?!

Not letting go of Nia's hand for a single moment, he started to back away from the guillotine. "W-what--?!"

She felt Simon's hand tugging against hers as he backed away, and she turned to face him. "Is something wrong?" she asked with an innocent and unknowing smile. Yes, Nia had noticed the guillotine.

No, she had no idea what it was used for.

"I do not know!" Nia answered chipperly. She really didn't know, and she knew that it should worry her that they were lost, but she couldn't quite drown out the immense sense of fascination she had for everything she saw. She wanted to learn more, and she wanted to learn as quickly as possible.

"Let us explore, Simon!" She said, and she began tugging him across the courtyard.

Nnnng, even as he's failing this trying to take control of the situation thing, he's pulling her as far away from the big sharp thing as possible. The last thing he needed was a sweet, MPD, hyperactive, headless girlfriend.

"Shouldn't we be looking for a way back?" He looked over his shoulder for the way they came, but... there was no door back to the hallway... no proof that they'd even come from DaiGurren High at all.

"Perhaps we will find one as we explore?" Nia offered innocent, completely unaware to the fact that her boyfriend was dragging her farther and farther away from the guillotine (honestly, the girl would have lost her head if it wasn't attached to her neck). Her eyes darted around the scene quickly, finally settling on the green goop of the fountain.

"What is this?" she asked as she tugged on his hand, intent on approaching the strange substance and inspecting it thoroughly.

He pulled on her hand trying to get her to stop. "Nia, what if it's poisonous?!" He tried not to sound like he was whining, but his voice failed him.

Nia stopped as soon as the words left Simon's mouth. Her hand was extended, as if she was just about to touch the bubbling liquid, but she retracted it quickly when he spoke. "Is it?" she asked as she peered at the lime green substance.

How could something so pretty be poisonous?

She stopped when he did, and frowned at him, before she nodded in resignation. "If Simon does not wish for me to touch the goo, then I will not."

Simon knew best, after all. Most of the time.

He took her other hand just to make sure she wouldn't grab for anything, before looking around. "Maybe if we find whoever's in charge here, they can tell us how to get home."

Nia nodded. "I believe we should search carefully, then," she said with a bright smile.

Which meant it was time to explore placed other than the courtyard.

Already, she was tugging Simon along out of the courtyard and to other, unexplored areas of the campus. At least these areas didn't have guillotines.

Or possibly poisonous goo.
