True to his word, Dartz hadn't taken long to reach the beach and spot who it was he was there to assist; there was only one person on the beach, after all, and she stood out. The red and black costume was hard to miss.

He didn't know her name, having not bothered to ask, but that didn't faze him at all. Walking towards her, he offered a mild and pleasant smile as he neared before addressing her. "Hello; I believe we spoke earlier."

A somewhat pleasant voice was able to snap Harley a bit from her moping, long enough to turn her head anyway. "Oh, it's you." The sight was a little odd, this coming from a girl who would willingly room with a plantgirl in a toxic waste dump. "I'd ask what's up with the hair, but sadly enough I seen a lot weirda." Jumping up to her feet, Harley was actually in a good enough mood to give the man a nice, flowing bow.

"Harley Quinn's the name. So what do they call you Big Blue?" A nickname that may or may not stick. And she really doesn't care if he liked it or not.

A bit amused, Dartz was glad he offered to help. He needed some entertainment every so often. "And you will likely see even stranger than that while you are here." He said amiably. Watching her move, he was pleasantly surprised by the bow, and nodded at her. Well, seems like some people could be polite enough, at least so far.

"A pleasure to meet you. My name is Dartz." He said, again vaguely amused; what was with people and calling him something that had to do with the color blue?

The guy talked fancy, but he didn't seem completely prissy like some others the girl has talked to. Her years as a gymnast did giver her a certain bounce to her step, popping right back up from that display of...courtesy? Yeah, well, Blue shouldn't get too used to it.

"So tell me, what brings you to help little ol' me out like this?"

"Is is difficult to believe that someone would wish to assist another simply because it is the right thing to do?" Dartz asked lightly, beginning to lead the way up the beat and towards the main campus and therefore the dorm rooms. He was quite interested in Harley; she had some potential from what he had seen so far, and she was amusing.

"Great, the Hero Logic. Just what I need." Looking slightly annoyed, Harley did follow close behind Darts, with her mask and jester hat in tow. "It is difficult ta believe. People's always looking out fer themselves." She was following, but it seemed she strayed from time to time, balancing on pavement walls, jumping off of rocks, the works. "So, why should I be 'xpecting otherwise.?"

Oh how nice did a hot bath sound about now.

Chuckling again, Dartz shrugged a shoulder and glanced back at her. "Unfortunately, you are correct. That is a great problem with people, and has been for thousands of years." He gave a pause as he seemingly considered his next words, though in reality he'd used them many times before and knew exactly what he was going to say. "You shouldn't, but that does not mean people who act differently do not exist. When you have everything you desire and no fear of losing it, there is no reason to be concerned with only yourself."

"Way to be all philosophical Blue." Can you blame her for not being so trusting? Batman was probably one of the only people she actually knew that would help someone out for the sake of it, and he was the guy she was trying to kill. Even Joker and Ivy had their own agenda. Though Ivy was a genuine friend. "Everyone has fear of losin power, so don't be so high and mighty."

Another pleasant smile was cast in her direction, and Dartz responded quite confidently. "I assure you, I have no fear of such a thing, for many reasons." That said, he changed the topic, not because he had any problem explaining his reasons but rather because he didn't want to appear to be too intent on that aspect of the conversation. Better to see how people reacted without prompting, and over time.

"If you have not already deduced this, many of us here come from different worlds." He began on the next topic, before asking a question. "What is your world like?"

"Different worlds?" If you haven't guessed, no, Harley hasn't seemed to catch on to that fact. "What are ya talkin about? This is still Earth, ain't it?" Because falling out of a helicopter doesn't teleport you to a completely different world. Maybe everyone was an alien? Not likely, but it was plausible. And if everyone was, then why the heck would they all be stuck at the same school.

"It is more apparent at night that this is not Earth; the moon and the stars are unlike any seen from that planet." Dartz began to explain, not really all that surprised she hadn't thought about multiple worlds. It wasn't something people would normally jump to right away if they weren't used to that sort of thing.

"I am not certain where this is, actually. Many of us here come from some version of Earth, though not all from the same one. Imagine multiple books, or television shows, each with their own version of events and their own settings. Many may be set on Earth, but are still distinct from each other, and others may be set entirely elsewhere. That is similar to the concept at work here." He elaborated, explaining in the easiest way he knew of. Far easier than discussing wave-functions and therefore the related quantum theory of multiple-worlds.

"Ya know you'z goin into parallel universe theories, right?" The topic made the guy sound like he was insane or something, but the uber-seriousness in his tone made the argument actually sound plausible. The sky would have to wait till night, but for now Harley had little choice but to keep it in the 'what-if' part of her brain.

Thinking back to the introduction letter, there were things there that connected Dartz's explanation. "So this Yuuko broad can drag people from all these different worlds and keep 'em like rats in a cage?"

[[ooc: I apologize for the delay, I've been kinda deadish.]]

Dartz genuinely smiled at that question, looking over his shoulder at her again. "Indeed I am." He confirmed, but didn't elaborate on the subject. If she was interested in more details, he was confident she'd ask.

"Yes, that would be a decent summarization." He agreed with her, nodding slightly. "The ability to travel between and affect different worlds, if that is indeed what she is capable of, is quite impressive."

[ooc: No problem; I'm the same way a bit, clearly. >.>]
