Atem treked across the campus, hands shoved into the pockets of his coat, beginning to lose patience. He'd been searching for Linali much of the day (or his day, as he'd only woken up a few hours' previous), and he'd found her in none of the usual places.

To most people, this would indicate maybe that she didn't want to see anyone right now. But, this was Atem, and if he had considered that idea he had disregarded it. The last time she'd hidden from everyone and he'd finally caught up to her, they'd fought a bit but it had all turned out for the best. This time would be the same, right? He couldn't just let her hide away somewhere with only her thoughts; it wasn't good for anyone to do that, really, even if he ignored that fact most of the time too.

A part of him not only wanted to talk to her out of concern for her, but because she was the only one he was really able to talk to himself. He wasn't close to many people on the island, and had few options. So much had happened on or since New Years Eye, and much of it had been quite serious. He hadn't known Axel, really; he'd seen him once or twice but he didn't remember ever speaking to him, but the fact that someone on the island had died was weighing heavily on his thoughts, alongside the events he'd personally been involved with on the night of the 31st and morning of the 1st.

His wandering had taken him to the beach and he stepped onto the sand, enjoying the familiar type of ground. Egypt had certainly not been made of sand, but there had been more than enough of it anyway, and it sometimes was a bit odd not to see it often.

Scanning the beach, figuring this was going to be another failed search, to his surprise he spotted a familiar figure. Starting towards her, when he'd reached speaking distance he commented, "Odd choice of location in this weather, Linali."

atem, linali
