Now, he was standing outside of Watanuki's door, wondering if he should give the other more time to dress (he was a bit early, after all). Practically the entire school had heard of the scandalous outfit Watanuki was to be wearing, courtesy of Yuuko and her fangirlish glee. Doumeki himself wanted quite desperately to see Watanuki in it, the result of Yuuko's frequent not-so-subtle teasing in his general direction. He should've known she'd know...of that night and the confession. Yes, Yuuko-san knew...and was far too eager to exploit the new development in their relationship.
It was at length did he finally raise his hand to knock, carefully not to drag his sleeves against the dusty door, inadvertently jingling the old watch at his side.

He walked over and grasped the doorknob, squeezed his eyes shut and pulled open the door. He knew his face was bright red and he couldn't bear to look, he was so embarassed.

...to be honest, the other boy looked rather--

...he wasn't saying anything. Could he have expected otherwise? Trying not to feel too irritated by the oh-so-typical Doumeki response, he slowly opened his eyes and prepared to bitch him out for not even giving ANY indica--
Watanuki's eyes widened as he took in Doumeki's costume. He looked...stunning. Amazing, even. It suited him perfectly.
It shut him up good.
...he was going to have to make a REALLY special cake for Daidouji-san.

Stupid in a highly attractive way. But it'd be a while before he'd tell Watanuki that.
"...I didn't bring Ichi," he said at length, breath almost a sigh, eyes not leaving Watanuki's costume, "Tomoyo said she'd tear the fabric."

He looked down at himself in gesture before looking up again. "It's probably just as well, considering..."
Doumeki just kept starting at him, his expression unreadable.
'Yeah...he hates it. Wonderful. Well, I'm NOT going to tell him how good he looks. He'll hear enough of that tonight and it'll just inflate his head even worse.' He tried to ignore the pangs in his heart and reminded himself that it wasn't a big deal, he didn't even LIKE this outfit and he certainly wouldn't be wearing it again. Not now, anyway. 'Damn you, Yuuko-san...'
It was only when he noticed the sound of paper crumpling in his balled fists that he remembered the envelope in his hand.
"Look, I KNOW I look stupid so would you PLEASE stop staring at me like that??? Jeez..."
Watanuki spun around, not bothering to wait for the archer's reaction. If any. He walked a little harder than he needed to and grabbed the pair of scissors on his desk. "C'mon! We've got to open this thing before we can go, and she said we have to do it together." He grimaced. "'Like a newlywed couple cutting their wedding cake', she said. She really DOES like to work in that reference, doesn't she."

He shrugged, finally tearing his eyes off of the costume, looking down at the envelope.
"...yeah."
Eyes still downcast, he added, trying to make it sound a bit careless, "...and it's not as stupid as some of the other stuff." Doumeki coughed lightly, almost hesitantly adding, "You're gorgeous."

"Thank you..." His cheeks were lighly pink and not flaming red. Maybe...he was getting used to this, after all.
Watanuki stopped a few feet in front of Doumeki, setting the envelope and scissors on the bed. He figured the scratches had to be healed by now, right? He stepped forward and gently hugged the archer, leaning his head sideways on his chest.
"You look..." he fumbled, trying to find the words. "I just...
He leaned back against the hands that had moved to hold him in turn, looking up at Doumeki's eyes. He smiled with a "can't be helped" expression, leaned up and kissed him.

He settled on keeping the kiss chaste, mouths closed, determinedly keeping the relationship innocent. The last thing Doumeki needed now was to have Watanuki thinking he was only after a physical relationship, or something....

Grabbing the scissors and envelope from the bed, he shook the envelope so the contents would settle at the bottom. It was letter-sized, so cutting at the top would be okay. Watanuki held the scissors with his right hand, ready to cut the envelope held in his left. "Um...Yuuko-san DID say 'like cutting the cake'..." Still a little embarassed, he looked at Doumeki expectantly.

Doumeki's left hand wrapped around Watanuki's grip on the scissors.
"...ready?"

He started cutting the envelope, mindful not to accidently nip the sleeve of Doumeki's coat. When the envelope was completely open Doumeki lifted his hands away, allowing Watanuki to walk to the bed. He set the scissors on the bed and poured the contents of the envelope onto the bed.
Two red ribbons. One folded note.

"...did she say what to do with this?"

He picked up the note and unfolded it, Yuuko's distinctive writing on the page. He skimmed the contents, blinking in disbelief.
...
"YUUKO-SAN!!!!!!! I KNOW you can hear this! What the hell--we're NOT doing that! No one even KNOWS yet!!!!"
He looked down at the paper as the handwriting shifted into new words. He read them frantically, and his eye twitched.
The note was crumpled in the grip of Watanuki's fists.

...unless, of course, there was another "we" that Watanuki was going to be doing "stuff" with in the near future.

He breathed in and out, in and out. That woman...god, she was a sadist for sure. Opening his eyes, he turned to look at Doumeki.
"The ribbons. We have to wear them." He looked away. "I have to tie one to your right pinky finger, and then you..."
The flush of Watanuki's face was fueled by both embarassment and rage.
