If the wind turns right and you don't take fright

Jul 14, 2008 03:28

Who: Open to all
When: Sunday night, about an hour after the fireworks
Where: The docks
What: And now there are ghost stories~
Rating: TBA.

By the time the fireworks have ended and everyone has had the chance for food and drink, all the lights in Zantetsuken have been extinguished and the doors have been shut, leaving the dockside very dark indeed. Only four large pillar candles at the corners of the patio remain lit, burning brightly on their wire stands in the still air. A large bowl of seawater sits at the base of the northmost stand. All the students are encouraged to gather within the perimeter of the candles, the better to "hold back the night".

Yuuko's drink has disappeared somewhere, and Larg sits next to her on the table looking unwontedly serious. Yuuko herself seems solemn, but there is the slightest curve to her lips. It doesn't seem that she is amused, just . . . expectant, perhaps.

The breeze has turned damp, laden with the heavy smell of rain in the distance.

"So," the headmistress says, her voice cutting through the darkness. "Who would like to begin?"

[OOC: For those of you who have read xxxHolic, this ghost story telling will be different from the one at Doumeki's temple. Since the island technically has no human spirits to attract, as no one has died there yet, the only stories that will cause any kind of effect will be those that deal with some kind of 'demon' of the teller, either past or present. A story about something that actually happened to the teller, a past fear, or something of the like, will cause the monster of that story to manifest outside the circle.]
