As soon as Niwa had typed that he would be heading off, Riku bolted up from her computer (scaring the kitten in the process) and started to straighten the room up. She smoothed her bedspread out, smoothed Risa's bedspread out, and rushed to her closet. Instead of her usual overalls, she donned a pair of brown shorts and a blue and white thickly striped shirt. She even brushed her hair, stole one of Risa's hairclips (it was a sparkly blue invention in the shape of an anchor) and pulled back a bit of her hair to secure it with it.
She surveyed herself in the mirror, taking in a shaky breath. She was very lucky to have someone like Daisuke as her boyfriend. If she had been cursed with feelings for someone else, someone who preferred a Risa-esque girl to what she usually was. There was no way that she could be as girly or as frilly as Risa was and it was lucky for her that she didn't have to try to do that just to impress Daisuke.
Looking around for the kitten, she found her under her bed and pulled the white ball of fluff out. "Heeeey, little one. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you earlier. Someone very important is coming over." She said with a smile, watching as the kitten relaxed in her arms and began to purr when she scratched behind her ears. "He should be here any minute and I'm so excited to see him." She admitted, her smile brightening when the kitten licked her fingertips.
