A completely black cat peeked out from behind the tree Dante was lounging under. He didn't know this man, but he seemed lonely. The kitten crept out from behind the tree, walking carefully, and stopped near the man's shoulder.
"Nya?" He tilted his head quizzically, looking up into Dante's face.
Dante cracked an eye open when he felt a presence near him. He only saw a cat staring back at him. He had a feeling their was more to this cat than appeared, but he couldn't be certain.
"Hey kitty. What's up?" He reached out to scretch the cat on his head.
The little kitten leaned into the touch, purring softly. So, this was a nice man. He decided this was as good a place as any to be, and sat down, rubbing against the man.
At a sudden shout, his ears flickered. He knew he should answer, but the petting was so nice!
"Yun-qi! YUN-QI! Where'd you go off to?" In the distance, a black-haired girl continued to call her kitten, and he continued to rub against Dante and purr, ignoring her.
Linali was getting frustrated. Almost as soon as they had walked outside, Yun-qi had run off, not even looking back when she shouted his name. She muttered to herself as she continued looking for the renegade kitten, hoping he hadn't gotten himself up a tree again.
"YUN-QI!" Linali stopped where she was and looked around. She gave a tug at her thigh-high boots and frowned. Why had he run off?
As she turned around she noticed a man lying against a tree. Maybe he'd seen her kitten? She approached him slowly, trying not to scare him since his eyes were closed. "Um, excuse me..."
Dante followed her gaze, "Don't worry about those babe. Wouldn't use them against you, unless you're a demon looking for a fight." Dante smirked, "I'd only use them to protect you."
"A demon?" Her thoughts immediately went to akuma before she shook herself back into the present. "Ehhh.... um, thank you." This man strangely reminded her of General Cross...
Linali pointed a stern finger at her kitten. "Yun-qi, you are in big trouble for running off like that." She gingerly reached down to scoop him up.
Dante chuckled, "Aw, don't blame him sweetheart. I'm the one that kept him," He sat up and flashed a winning smile at her, "How about I make it up by taking you out?"
Linali paused with her hand resting on Yun-qi's back. "Take me out?" Being as sheltered as she was, she was unsure exactly what his intentions were. Oddly, her thoughts flashed to Allen-kun, but she quickly pushed her mind back to the present once more. "Um, I suppose that's okay. You don't have to though. Yun-qi is just a little mischievous at times."
DAnte waved his hands, "No no. I want to," He winked at her and then stood, "Name's Dante." He said bending down to pick up Ebony and Ivory, his guns, and put them into their holster, followed by Rebellion, his sword, "And it's a pleasure to meet you pretty lady." He smiled, "So? Where to?"
After scooping Yun-qi up into her arms, Linali watched Dante put his weapons away carefully. She wondered what his world was like that he needed so many things to protect himself. Self-consciously she touched the top of her boot.
"Um, well... anywhere's fine with me, Dante-san." She smiled up at him, noticing just how tall he was now that he was standing. "There are still some places I haven't been on campus, or we could grab some lunch."
Linali noticed his raised eyebrow and held her kitten up slightly. "And this is Yun-qi. It's Chinese for luck or fortune."
"I've never tried pizza before, but I've heard it's popular here." Linali fell into step beside him, smiling sweetly. "How long have you been here, Dante-san? I don't think I've seen you around campus before."
Dante blinked, "You've never had pizza? Oh my dear. We must get you to the cafe immediately." He said and started picking up his pace, "I've been here for...... a month? I think. I could be wrong. I'm the greatest when it comes to time."
"Nya?" He tilted his head quizzically, looking up into Dante's face.

He stretched and then rubbed his head, "So the cafe it is," He motioned for her to follow as he headed over there, "I'm in the mood for pizza anyway."
