What Weekend....

Dec 11, 2005 19:05

I get asked a lot about what I do on the weekends here in Japan, simple I work. Most people at home do not understand this concept. Also the concept that I am working Christmas.

This weekend has been a rather mixed bag and I am feeling a little blah right now. Yesterday I added to the list of things that I have inherited from previous instructors. Here is a list.

CD player - Its pink and it saved my sanity for the first few days here.
Guitar - Very nice Scottish girl gave it to me, can't play have no idea why I got it.
Indian Spices - From the same Scottish girl who had got them from one of her old room mates
Coffee Maker - This was a practical one and gets the most use.
Kecap Manis - From my friend Bianca, who is on her way home via Osaka. It is sweet Indonesian Soy Sauce.
Recipes - From lots of people
Small Desk - You can see it in a previous post.
Microwave Oven - The lastest from a New Zealander who is off to live in a Temple in India.

The microwave is cool, it also doubles as a convection oven and get this, it makes toast.

Today was rather hideous at work. Yes, I had the spawn of satan today. He of course did very little, so I sat there and hummed Pokerekare Ana, largely to remain calm. I have decided I hate teaching this child, I could palm him off on to someone else since I am kids coordinator, but everyone would reject him. I have been told I will get some help with him next year. Slowly my sanity is going out the window, and I might not last until next year.

The other depressing thing about work is that they owe me four hours for the training I had to do on my day off. Of course nothing has been done about it, and it will be very difficult for them to give me the time off before the end of the year. If they had of just given me the 4 hours I wanted off when I found out about the training then I would not be so shitty about it now. They could of course pay me overtime for it, but I can't see that happening either.

James has some friends visiting here, they arrived today, the guy I have spoken to he seems nice and the girl traveling with him is snoring in the next room. I thought I was bad. Oh my God.

I have also gotten my first Christmas package, Tea and Chocolate. Thanks Joseph and Shane.

Hope you are all well. One more day of work and then four off.
