CHRONOLOGY: The Life and Times of the Merovingian

Mar 07, 2005 12:49

I've been meaning to get this all down in type for a while, so I took advantage of that chat-hiatus I took last weekend and worked on this:

Key to the text:

Already played out/fictionalized = (Boldface)

Not played out/written = (Regular typeface)

The Chronology:

First Iteration:

--The Merv is created [I'd love to play this out, I just don't know how to execute it]
--Eros sexually "awakens" the Merv [Another scene I'd love to play out: I'm seeing the Merv as the only Regional Master Program to have this kind of bond with Eros]
--The Merv kills his twin, the Macedonian, in a fair fight; the Merv is allowed to take his brother's place, but that rush of new power has him hungry for more, so he proceeds to wipe out the other five RMPs.
--The Architect attempts to delete the Merv; Eros has a place set aside in the mountains where the Merv and his supporters can conceal themselves.
--Flood is nearly deleted for failing to stop a superstorm in the European Sector.

Second Iteration:

--The template changes from the timeless, Middle Earth-like construct to a more modern look, so much of this time, the Merv was readjusting to the new construct. [Which is also why he looks shell-shocked in that "Second Iteration" photo I posted]
--The Merv disguises himself as an amnesiac young man and allows himself to hide in plain sight as the "kept man" of the billionaire turned vintner who finds him in this state (("L'Homme Fatale"))

Third Iteration:

--Persephone first encounters the Merv and fights him, to avenge the death of her former master, the Macedonian.

Fourth Iteration:
--TBA

Fifth Iteration:
--The Merv wants Persephone to give him a child. She refuses. Their relationship starts to fray.
--Lucien is nearly deleted, and goes into Exile.

Sixth Iteration:
--The Merv begins experimenting with impregnating human women.

Seventh Iteration:
--The Merv fathers a child with an operatic soprano who has an abortion, and leaves the Matrix, when she finds out from the Rebels that he's a program.

Eighth Iteration: "DegSep" events

--Ref bids on the Sword at an antiquities sale; the Merv claims it as his ("The Other Half of the Equation" Chapter 1[?])
--The Merv seduces Ref; she concieves his offspring ("The Other Half of the Equation", Chapter 2 [?])
--The Merv contacts Roland, ordering him to leave Ref jacked in ("Other Half..." Chapter 3[?])
--Persephone starts to find out what's going on, the Merv moves Ref to the Bellagio Hotell ("Other Half..." Chapter 4[?])
--The Alliance begins to take shape: the Merv leaves Ref for three days (or however long it takes), during which time, Jack and the Hammer crew catch up with Ref, and Ref finds out she's pregnant ("Other Half..." Chapter 5[?])
--The glad tidings of the Alliance ("Things that Ref, the Merv and Lucien do and don't want to hear at 2 AM" needs to be typed/posted)
--The Merv moves Ref back to the Chateau; Persephone finds out what's going on ("Other Half..." Chapter 6 [?])
--Emily, John and Michelle arrive at the Chateau (chat log)
--Emily meets Ref (ficlet)
--John finds out about Neo and Smith, then seperates from Michelle (chat log)
--The Merv consoles Michelle (ficlet)
--Little tokens start showing up in Michelle and Emily's rooms (three ficlets, one unposted)
--Emily's nightmares (ficlet)
--The night before the Battle with the Dragons, Ref promises to stay in the Mainframe (ficlet)
--Ref finds out what went down between the Merv and Smith; she tries to escape the Mainframe (chat log)
--Smith and Neo wipe Ref's memory of the incident (chat log)
--Shepherd exacts a promise from the Merv that he won't pull any wierd code on anyone again
--Ref's bad cold; Neo heals her at the Merv's request(chat log)
--Maintainer attack (two chat logs)
--Ninel finds out about Lucien's relationship with the Merv
--Lucien leaves the Merv for Ninel
--The Merv falls into a deep depression lasting several days
--He tries abducting Lucien from his hiding place in Neo's apartment
--Persephone leaves the Merv
--Eros helps the Merv recover from his depression ((::wink, wink; nod, nod::))
--The Merv takes Flood as his male sex partner
--Ref gets into an argument with a Rebel who's critical of the Alliance; her emotional distress, along with everything else (and a spell of warm weather) causes her to go into premature labor, which Weaver manages to stop.
--July 3rd: Ref gives birth to Blaise, suffers a bad post-partum depression and has to be released from the Matrix to recover
--The Merv tracks down Perse and succeeds in convincing her to come back to him.
--During her emotional recovery, Ref works with an archaeological team which discovers a gene bank. She arranges to spend her days in the Real and her nights in the Matrix.

Sixteen years post-"DegSep":
--I'd like to fit in a battle with demons, but I'm still working out the details on this.

Following the Passing of the One and the Opposite
--Ref dies, the Merv goes into hibernation ("Once and Future King")
