It's alway somethin'...

I would like to just go on record saying:

Fuck Dell. How you fuck up AC adapters and batteries on laptops, I honestly don't have a goddamn clue.

Yeah. So my AC adapter for my laptop fried itself during SYP... so, thinking it'd been over a year already and that I was out of warranty, I ordered up a new 3-prong one from a 3rd party to replace it. $70 later (because I basically overnighted it), I had a new adapter that worked and was beefier than the previous one. Ok... that's fine.

About yesterday I notice I'm getting an orange blinking light for my adapter LED. Sufficiently annoyed by it tonight, I finally decided to look it up to figure out what was causing it...

Dead battery. So about 3 weeks after the adapter goes, so does the battery... good to know. Wondered if this was a common occurance...

so again, I looked. Sure enough, the adapters that Dell sends out with my model laptop are notorious for dying almost every 9-12 months. The 9-cell battery of mine? Well known to fail after the adapter does, most likely to fail right after the warranty is up. Only lasts a year if you're lucky.

Was I lucky? Yes... Very lucky. While getting rid of pre-installed Dell cack that I had been too lazy to deinfest, I noticed the programs were coming up around September. And lo and behold... my warranty is still good until September 7th. I actually have until right when classes start to get a new battery from Dell. Yay!

Who wants to bet they'll want me to send my laptop in, when they could just send me a new damn battery?
