There would always be people that would always contest that the Bible is illogical and self-contradictory. Yes, it is illogical, but then God is beyond reason, so that's that. As for self-contradiction, they would always say that '...if you Christians are believers in the Bible, shouldn't you be offering animal sacrifices...', referencing the various laws in the Old Testament.

Er, no, we don't have to do that. Because in the very first chapter, at the second verse, it is stated that those commands are for the people of Israel. Are we the ones referred to to be of Israel? Genetically, I don't think so; there is none in our family that could trace their lineage back to God's chosen people.

But nonetheless, despite being a Gentile God accepted us, and did not require that we be beholden to the Jewish laws as Paul would argue.

To conclude, many of the commands in the Old Testament we do not do because it is not directed at us. We are not commanded to uphold the old laws for their purpose is to prepare the people for Jesus, and thus their validity has been washed away by Jesus' blood as a requirement for salvation. In their place, is the acceptance of the Holy Spirit from which an inner change would occur, from which the avoidance of sin would not anymore be a directive; rather it would be in our nature to do so, for we have been plucked away Somewhere Down the Road... to Perdition. Ahahahaha.
