Rumors and Truths.

Merriam-Webster’s definitions of “rumor”-

Rumor -

1: talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source

2: a statement or report current without known authority for its truth

3: archaic: talk or report of a notable person or event

One time, you told me you don’t listen to or entertain rumors.

I thought that was admirable about you.

Until I proved you wrong.

Everyone hears rumors.

From the above definitions, as long as people talk about one another, everything anyone says about anyone else is pretty much a rumor.

I mean, more people have more credibility than others. Say, you’re a best friend or a boyfriend or a girlfriend or the like.

I don’t need a thesaurus to tell me the opposite of a rumor.

Because that would be the truth.

You don’t listen to or entertain rumors, because you are all about finding out the truth.

Just like I am.

Being trustworthy is something people like you and me count on.

Because if you and me aren’t thought of as trustworthy, that would mean people would think that you and me are liars.

And being called a liar is uber hurtful to people like you and me.

We’re so alike.

So much alike, it’s scary.

If you were actually reading this, you might actually have a mini heart attack, because I’m not supposed to get you this well, but I do.

Anyway…

Like I was saying…

You don’t entertain rumors.

Because you are all about the truth.

What I’ve heard about you, is all truth.

Rumors come from unreliable sources.

Lies come from twisted truths.

You’re a liar.

That’s the truth.

I tried so hard not to judge from the things I heard about you.

I tried so hard to think those things are just rumors.

But they aren’t.

They are real.

They are from real people that are really trying to protect me from you.

I have so rearranging to do.

Stop ever trying to get my attention.

You’ve got other people to lie to.
