Yay For Supply, North Carolina!!!

Last Friday I rode with Whitney down to Wilmington. I think she had some photo shoot or something there, but I met up with Chanda, Pinder and Bim at the mall and we drove down to Chanda's house in Shallote. Anyways, me and Whitney's trip was pretty eventful. Before even getting out of Charlotte, Whitney realized that she had forgotten batteries for her CD player. We had to stop at Target and get some. There was much singing on our trip. We basically rule at "We Belong Together." We sound just like Mariah...sike! (me and Molly are bringing that word back) But the GREATEST moment of our car-ride - we're just riding along, then BAM! A butterfly hits the fuck outta our windshield! Like seriously, it had to have been goin at top speed. I've never heard a bug hit a windshield so hard. Whitney does the noise it made so great, it was kinda like "DONK!" It freaked both of us out for a second, we were like - whoa! WTF. Then we started laughing uncontrolably (sadistic jerks, ha). It was soooooo funny though! I loved it! Anyways, once I met up with my UNC girls, Pinder, Bim and I all wanted seafood since of course we're all from the Piedmont (me and Bim=Charlotte, Pinder=Greensboro). Chanda called her dad and asked him where a good restaurant was and he was like "well we can just cook here." Wow, I was like expecting maybe a few shrimp or something, but OMG! Seriously, I can't lie to you guys...it was like...the GREATEST meal I have EVER had. Oh, pleeeease let me tell you what was included. There was steak, salmon fillets, chicken, crab legs, fries and sweet potatoes. Chanda's mom was saying there weren't many sides, but I was like "no problem! I'm just gonna focus on all this meat right here!" haha. I've never had that much good food at one time, I can't even explain how awesome it all was. Oh yeah, there were biscuits and crescent rolls too. And too drink, the BEST iced tea and lemonade you could ever hope to taste. I don't know if it was the coastal water or what! But like, even before your tongue actually had a chance to taste the tea or lemonade, it like hit your tongue and just gave it this very nice sensation. That sounds really weird, but you'd just have to taste it to understand. Maybe it was because they had an iced tea maker? Hmm, but that still wouldn't explain the goodness of the lemonade? Anyways. After dinner we played taboo with Chanda's mom (who was sooo cute & sweet!!! awww). Me, Pinder and Chanda's mom were on a team and we KILLED Chanda, her brother, and Bim! I don't mean to brag, but um...Taboo's kinda what I do ;-) Anyways, soon after that we went to sleep because we were getting up at 5am for clamming. Oh yeah, I forgot to say where we slept at. We had like our own separate little apartment-type deal over the garage. It was sooo awesome. Chanda had a gorgeous house and she didn't tell anyone! Haha, so we were like all walkin in with our jaws dropped. And omg! Her backyard, yeah, it's like the frickin' intercoastal waterway or something. No joke. I'll show you the picutres once they're developed. So anyways, our getting up at 5am turned into about 5:30. Chanda woke us up in a very stern, but non-yelling voice, haha. "GET UP. MALORY, GET UP." Yesss! She called me out! haha. So we put on the clamming clothes they gave us and we rolled out with Chanda's parents. Apparently we had gotten out there too late. Chanda's parents told us that you needed to be out there at low tide to really get the clams, but the sun came up kinda late and it's illegal to go out when it's dark out, so we kinda had no choice but to go late. Anyways, I guess I should kinda explain what clamming is. I guess it's pretty self-explanatory but, it's where you go look for clams, ha. But when you go out there, there's a SHITLOAD of oyster shells. Like when it's oyster season I gotta imagine it's not at all hard to find them. But anyways, you use your hands or a rake to try and find the clams. You can tell the clams from the oysters because they have a smooth shell and a little corner of them sticks out from the sand a little bit. Bim found 2...damn overacheiver! lol. But Chanda, Pinder & me had to have help from Chanda's dad. It was fun though. OH! I almost forgot. Chanda, Pinder and I had walked out kinda far and while I was raking, a crab swam by! It **FREAKED** me out! I didn't really do anything physically, but I kinda stepped back a little and was like oh shit, it's gonna pinch me or something. It was pretty big too, one of the red & white ones (like the kind you eat). After we watched it swim by I was like - damn! I shoulda picked it up with my rake and caught it. A few crab legs woulda made up for me not catching any clams, right? lol. After clamming we went back and took showers and prepared for the day. We ran to Food Lion real quick for cameras and batteries and cooking oil, etc, then went back for breakfast. Wow, they fa real spoiled the heck out of us! Breakfast was pancakes and waffles, scrambled eggs/fried eggs, seasoned turkey sausage, bacon, and grits. It was so funny though because Chanda told her mom to not make a lotta grits cuz none of us liked them...it turned out all of us loved grits except for Chanda lol. So the grits got gone pretty quick. After breakfast we took a ferry to...well I;m not exactly sure, lol. I think it was called South Port maybe? I think it was some pat of Wilmington maybe, or at least near there. The ferry was pretty awesome. We took a buncha pictures and even saw some pelicans flying overhead. Pretty crazy. Oh yeah, they have black-headed seagulls there too. I had never seen those before, the ones in Charlotte and everywhere else I've seen, are white and grey. Anyways, we drove back to Chanda's house, which took probably a little over an hour. I think everyone fell asleep in the car at one point or another, except for Chanda's dad of course, who was driving. When we got back, everybody was wore out, but Chanda's mom was gonna make the clam bake. So Chanda and Bim were in the main part of the house or, "the other part of the compound," as we liked to call it, and me and Pinder was gonna sleep for a little bit in our room-thing. We never slept though, we started watching this show on Animal Planet about animals through cartoon history. Haha, such nerds, I know. It was interesting as hell though! It really made me realize how much I love WB cartoons (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc), ha. Disney really kinda sucks in comparison. Anyways, since we couldn't sleep, Pinder & I went into the house and couldn't find anyone. So we got some cake and played some Speed (there was MUCH card-playing this weekend). They all came back from the store and thought we had went to sleep. We were like - naw, just being nerds. Chanda's mom started on the clam bake and Chanda, Pinder & I continued playing card games. I learned how to play spades completely now!!! I'm so excited about that. We played before we went to the ferry and while Chanda's mom was making the clam bake. That big-headed boy from Central can just wait for Jr. Conference! I re-niged, my ass! grrr...thanks Marlo! haha. Teaching Fellows know what I'm talking about. Anywaysss, the clam bake was awesome. It was basically a stew with corn, potatoes, vidalia onions, sausage, shrimp, and of course the clams. Soooo good! There was also fried squash that was awesome, and I don't even like squash. After we ate we drove down to Myrtle Beach and just kind of rode around. Well first, we visited the Molly KayE at work. I can't remember the name of exactly where she was, Ocean Isle maybe? Anyways, she works at some beach shop that plays continuous country music and Jimmy Buffet lol. She hates it. After we left there we went to Myrtle...craaaaazy traffic down there! Geez, I thought Charlotte was kinda bad at 5pm. After getting lost for an excessive amount of time, we went to the Nascar Cafe and drove go-karts. It was fun stuff. Before we got on though, we saw 1.) A grandpa who was BLAZIN' past all the young people. Seriously, he was like frickin Mario Andretti (don't really know who that is, but I remember he was on "Home Improvement" one time and Gwen Stefani mentions him in her "Crash" song haha). 2.) Some girl had to come back in after like the first 2 laps cuz she got injured. I didn't think she got hit that hard, but she was like holding her stomach and neck like she had gotten whiplash or something. I was like, wow, was it that serious? But I dunno, maybe she was fa real hurting. After Nascar we went down to this place called Broadway that had a buncha shops. I got a "Colombia" shirt from one of the places. It looks like a soccer jersey and even has their country's soccer logo on it. Pretty sweet. We finally met up w/ Kiki and went to Denny's to get dessert. I had never been to Denny's before (let alone, in South Carolina!) because of their whole racial discrimination lawsuits in the early 90's. Little bit of a deterrent, ha. But anyways, I got this apple crisp a la mode thing that was pretty good. After Denny's we went back to Chanda's house and got there around 1. We basically all passed out. We got up around 8:30 the next morning and got ready. We headed out and stopped at McDonald's in Wilmington. We got back into Chapel Hill right around 1pm and I chilled at Chanda's apartment until about 4:15 when I had to go catch my train. At Chanda & Pinder's apartment I couldn't figure out how to get the TV on from the DVD player, so I just put in the Powerpuff Girl movie that I saw was there (they're subleasing, it wasn't their's lol). I had never seen it and had really wanted to cuz I like the cartoon (no laughing). Chanda was gonna read for her class, but started getting into the movie too. All 3 of us were sitting down there getting into the movie lol. I actually liked it a lot :-[ Yay Bubbles! Haha. Chanda dropped me off at the train station and the train was nearly an hour late. We get on and this lady ends up sitting beside me, grrr. First - she's going allllll the way to Charlotte too. And second...she's reading a book. And not just for some of the way, but for like the whole almost-3 hours. It just pissed me off that she could read a book for that long. My attention span is like 3 minutes long. Also, I had nothing to do - no walkman or magazines, so I just stared out of the window. BUT, every so often, and for the majority of the trip, I was hearing these noises that seemed to be coming from behind me. Seriously, sounded like someone was having sex. It sounded like a woman moaning and one time I coulda sworn I heard a man grunt too. I kept wanting the lady beside me to look at me like - do you hear that? But she was all in her damn book. I kept hearing the screams/moans/whatever and I really just wanted to stand up and ask everyone "Is anyone else hearing this?!" Anyways, I got home around 9:20pm and that was the end of my awesome Supply/Shallotte trip! :-D

**Oh yeah, the theme song of out trip!!! Kelly Clarkson's "Since You Been Gone." Random, I know. But for some reason, Chanda had been singing it before, so we would just randomly break into it like every 5 minutes during the trip. "I'm so movin' on, yeah yeah. Thanks to you, now I get...I GET WHAT I WAAAAANT!" We were killin that song! 3 black girls and an asian girl riding down the highway singing Kelly Clarkson at the top of their lungs...funny shit! The secondary little song would be Chanda and Pinder's song. I dunno the name of it, but it goes "Give me just a little more time! And our love will surely grow." The man singing had this crazy voice though, and Chanda & Pinder were getting it down pretty good. Damn, I love my girls!

Monday I went to take a drug test to work at the Convention Center. I went in like 10 minutes before they were closing and was getting kinda nervous that it would be too late. And somehow, someway, whenever I'm nervous at a doctor's office, there is ALWAYS a Debra Messing magazine. Seriously, like the last 2 times I had to get blood drawn (and thus, cried/hyperventilated), there was a Debra Messing magazine there for me to read. ::Through my tears:: "Aww, they used to make fun of her in elementary school because she was Jewish!" Haha, but yeah, it made me feel better to have a Debra magazine haha. Anyways, they call me back and the guy is getting ready to give me the little cup to pee in. But before he gives it to me, he asks me, "Do you need to use the bathroom?" I just kind of stared at him for a while, I didn't understand wtf he was talking about. In my head I was thinking, and ALMOST said, "Um, I'm not sure how to answer that?" But I just kinda laughed and said "um, yeah?" I was thinking - I mean, do you know why I'm here? Kinda here for a urine test! And then I thought - Dude, I'm not gonna pee here? WTF. So after I said yeah he said, "Ok, I just wanted to make sure you needed to use the restroom." I was like ohhhhhhhh, ok! I finally got it lol. I always have a hard time with those things. I'll tell the really bad experience I had with a physical one time, in my next entry. It was just pretty pathetic, really.

Last night I went with my aunt & uncle to see "Batman Begins." Pretty fuckin awesome. I mean, it's not Star Wars: Episode III or anything (but what is?), but it was really, really good. I didn't even expect to like it that much.

Today I was supposed to teach Whitney how to play some tennis. We went to Renaissance and it was pretty crowded. Whitney's like "I don't wanna go down there! Too many people staring at me!" Geez, lol. So we went to Steele Creek Elementary...and played on their playground. Hahaha. Whitney's idea of course. I can't lie though, it was fun! We swung and did the slide and everything. Oh yeah...there are pictures. Lol. After that we went back to Whitney's house and she showed some pictures of her UNC-W people.

Well, I guess that's about it. But since I didn't get to write an entry on her birthday...
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY LA'JESSICA SHAVONDA HUDGENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Call me soon chica!

Anyways, it's bedtime. <3 Love Ya! <3

***Oh yeah...Michael Jackson's free!!! I wanted to shake like every black person's hand on Monday, haha. It was fa real, an important day! Mike's innocent!!!!! ...but now I just want him to hang out with his own kids. You got 3 of your own Mike. Just hang out with them! No! No other little kids, just your own. Thanks.
