Marathon

I may have committed myself to doing a Marathon. My running buddy is all excited about doing the San Diego Rock-n-Roll. He says we have 14 weeks to prepare and that with our solid half marathon base we can get there. I told him that if I have a solid 18 miler (I've never run more than 14 miles at a stretch) under my belt by 4/20 and am feeling ( Read more... )

My bro does marathons fairly regularly - he's doing London for the third time in April. I'm sure you will make it! Having a good training partner helps.

Thanks for the encouragement. Running 2:15 hours vs. 5 hours is a little daunting.

I forgot to mention that bro is 51, and I think he was past 40 when he did his first full marathon, having done several halfs. So you are just a baby at this game!

Good luck on such a long run! By 4/20 I'm hoping I'll be up to a short sprint of, oh, 10 yards or so; let's compare notes then and see if we each meet our goal {g}!

Well, that 10-yard sprint by April 20 depends entirely on how quickly my foot heals from surgery - but if I'm still hobbling by then, I'll be plenty mad!
