Run for your life!

I just realised it is October, and that means NaNoWriMo is just a month away. For all you normal people out there, that's when thousands of people around the world write a novel during the month of November by themselves, together. Go to nanowrimo.org to know more ( Read more... )

Hi, I did a search on 'cuernavaca' and found your journal. I've enjoyed it. :)

Hey, thanks! I saw we had quite a few interests in common. Wanna be my lj friend?

And how do you know Cuernavaca?

Heh, sure! I just added you... :)
I was born in Cuernavaca, and I still have family there that I visit from time to time. You have family there also?

Yes. I have my parents-in-law, my sister-in-law and my 2 beautiful nieces who I miss like crazy! I also had a surrogate family there who took me in while I learned Spanish and we were very close, but papa died and my mama took it very hard. They'd been together since they were 14 and she wouldn't get out of the house a lot after. Then she met a French man and is living a different life in Europe, so only my in-laws and some friends are left.

I'm going back my my husband and our boys and probably my dad too at the end of February. I love it there. I remember being very scared to go on my own and as soon as I got to the city I felt just as at home as I do in Montreal, where I live.

I'm so sorry to hear about your papa. I can't imagine losing someone after so many years together.

Yeah, Cuernavaca is great! The city is absolutely beautiful and unlike anywhere I've ever been. I was there last August, and I want to go back in the spring.

So did you meet your husband there? My mother was visiting from the states, and met my dad who happened to be her Spanish teacher. The rest is history. :)Where were you taking lessons? I know they have quite a few language schools there.
