On Friday I went to the launch of this Urbania magazine's latest issue. It looked like it would have been fun later but I had to get out early, what with the kids being at my parents and my oldest having Circus School in the morning. Wish I could have met more people, although I could have gone without the humiliation of having my story cut down 3/4 to a drabble and shoved in the back like they did me a favor. I wonder why thy put it in at all? Sure, I'm not the best writer ever in French, but we just communicated by e-mail so he wouldn't have had to even say it, and it's not like I would have cried or something. "Sorry, not going to work for this issue" or "your style doesn't work for our sort-of-bohemian-a-little-stuck-up really expensive magazine". I'm a straightforward person and I'm always a little shocked and offended when people aren't straightforward with me.
Moving right along, as the month of November comes along, I have decided I will be doing NANOWRIMO this year. The concept is writing the draft to a novel in 30 days. Of course, there are ample reasons not to do this.
1. No time
2. No plot
3. No time
4. LIFE in general
...
Okay, so 'ample' not so 'ample-y'.
I find this a good idea not only because I have nothing to lose (except my confidance and maybe my job) but stepping away from the fan fiction and writing some original fiction should get me back into the swing of things. 1,667 words a day...
!Vamonos vaqueros! !Andale!
