The other day, Jon Gibbs (jongibbs ) had a post about the importance of writing groups. The entry provoked a bit of discussion, and one of them from S. K. Williams (brimfire ) caught my attention. I was thinking about this on Saturday too. In fact, I've already been working on a cunning plan to set up an easy-to-access, on-line 'writing group finder'.

I've even secured a domain name, www.findawritinggroup.com

I intend to kick things off in the New Year.

I like that idea. Throughout the past few years, I randomly put together bits and pieces of good writing stuff I find. I've thought it would be nice ot have a website like that, but I do not have to ability to put it together.

But I might be convinced to help. Like I need another project... but this one could help my writing grow! We could do such much with it! Pimping writer's sites, writing groups, writing advice columns, etc, etc, etc. My brain is building a database already.

Oh my, this could be trouble.

Well, one thing I don't want to do is compete with LJ or Facebook. People use those well enough as it is, and if something like this could be complimentary rather than competitive I'd feel better about the entire enterprise.
