Watership Down

Ok, when I remember watching Donnie Darko, they're watching an animated movie in the classroom. I was always curious cause I recognised it very well. In the end, I looked it up, and it was Watership Down. I always wanted to check it out cause its not supposed to be a kids story...but its animated, and back in the eighties, that was unheard of. So I found it on youtube split into 10 parts.

First of all, the story was actually pretty cool. I loved how they were still just rabbits, besides human voices, they're still just a rabbit. Also, its hella violent for back in the day animation. I mean seriously, you see rabbits being gassed to death, a hawk wrecks some rabbit's shit, one gets shot. And you see an epic battle between Woundworth and Bigwig. Also, a dumbass bird who walks and talks like a drunk russian (I think) screams at the rabbits to "Piss Off". What the hell? Awesome, thats what it is.

I want to toast the awesome early animated films of their times like Watership Down, Little Nemo, The Thief and the Cobbler, Cats Don't Dance, etc... and not to mention all the Disney films. RIP animated films, you can't compete with CGI in the new generations of younglings.
