Sometimes he thinks he's an alien pretending to be a journalist, and some nights he wonders if he's a farmer caught in delusional dreams of being a hero.

I love that sentence.

This is *lovely*. I think you got into Clark's head very well, wonderful take on the character.

Clark actually seems interesting for a change. Nice job. :)

I'm really quite fond of him. Once you get past the Boy Scout routine, he's just as screwed up as the rest of them, and has a lot more power to toss around.

She counters with questions: when was he last in church, could he even explain the difference between his religion and the rest of the carpenter-worshippers? Clark is also insufficiently Methodist, he thinks.

Thank you and please do. Kara is the last person in the universe to worship Rao and we should totally remind people of that.

Oh, dude, I owe you my first born for writing this fic. There's not enough fic about Clark, there's even fewer that delve into his psyche so *perfectly,* with so much lovely detail. And your writing is so elegant and crisp. I envy you.

Clark sunk so low as to be jealous of a child. Tonight he's not certain he's climbed back out of that pit. Yes, yes, yes. Lovely rational for Clark's behavior in the Clash.(although Clark dude. In your defense, you didn't *know* Marvel was a kid. I'm hoping they patch up somehow in JLU season 3.)

Thanks. :D I'm not sure we can even defend Clark with the "he didn't know" argument, because he didn't seem even remotely surprised when Billy transformed (but there's no way to say either way, so let's give him the benefit of the doubt on this one).

*pets Clark* Poor alien farmboy.

Hmmm. I've downloaded an episode of the Clash, and there's a moment where he seems taken aback to find Marvel transformed into Billy. It's just that, y'know. Bomb. ticking. Or what he thought was a bomb.

That said, I am in agreement with you that it wasn't his best moment, and he didn't handle the situation well. And that he was horribly *unfair* to Billy, but you give a wonderful explanation as to why he behaved the way he did. Bravo.
