Redux, Remixed?

Many things to talk about, none that I really feel like getting into as of yet, and I instead find myself longing for stories past. I've been going over old plotlines (and not especially old ones) and sighing about what fun it was to visit those places, even the scary ones. While I can still play with the characters, I can't necessarily play with them exactly that way, in those particular settings. Some of my stories were set in their own private continuity, and sequels of a sort would be possible. In general I've been trying to stick to stand-alones lately, and while one resulted in an accidental follow-up, the goal of the stand-alones has been to tell a story and get out with all relevant questions answered and the pieces put back more or less neatly. (Technically, I did not break Tim. Continuity broke Tim. I just took a little tap hammer to the superglued result.)

But I really miss Lois chatting and hanging out with Clara, and I kind of want to know what else the boys got up to during their first year of college, and the Betterverse keeps calling me back for more. Otoh those stories, and all the others nattering about in my head, aren't open to sequels and I have no intention of writing sequels for them. (Good intentions yay.)

I just miss them, you know? Even the ones that drove me crazy when I was writing them.

So, poll time. I figure I'm not alone in my nostalgia for old stories, and I'm curious to see what other people think.

Poll Revisiting the Past

Feel free to add any thoughts you've got in the comments. Share (if you want) the story you miss writing most or the characters in a particular setting that still creep around in your head from time to time. If you can speculate why, so much the better.
