A month or so back, I seemed to have fallen under a curse of some kind, in which I injured myself constantly for the better part of a week. It started on a Wednesday when I fell off my bike onto a gravel road 3km (~1.8mi) into a 30km ride... which might seem like a good place to fall off if you're going to, except the ride was from a camp back into (and across) town, so it wasn't exactly abortable despite the condition of my hand and leg. Also it was sunset, and the road in question a little-used logging road... not a good place to spend a night.
After that little adventure, I started injuring myself everywhere I went. I slammed a finger in a fridge door (which did some truly surprising damage despite the padded gasket--the fingertip was sensitive and visibly bruised for a week or two afterward), then I dropped a food-processor blade, then I managed to burn my other hand on a hot stove attempting to CATCH said food-processor blade... and that was all just on the Saturday! By Sunday I decided to go to bed at 4pm just to make the weekend end quicker. :P

Fortunately for me, the curse seemed to peter out at that point... until last weekend, when it came back in force, but in an oddly-different form. I have lately found myself under a kitchen-curse and have started messing up nearly everything I have attempted in said location.
Make some coffee! Oops, I forgot to change the coffeegrounds from the first batch.
Bake an angelfood cake! Oops, I split the batter for one cake into two pans, and also overbeat the eggwhites, and ALSO forgot an extra half-cup of powdered sugar, ultimately resulting in some vaguely-fluffy and slightly-sweet bread.
And then there was today...
From 4pm until midnight I ended up helping a friend bake various cookies and muffins for an event tomorrow (today!), during which I managed to screw something up to a greater or lesser degree on literally every single thing I made. Fortunately, only one screw-up was drastic enough to have resulted in the project turning out semi-inedible, and that maaaaay have been partly due to the recipe itself... but probably not.
Otherwise it was a steady string of mixing things before they were supposed to be mixed, forgetting to double this or that ingredient in an otherwise-doubled recipe, using the wrong kind of flour, using baking powder instead of baking soda, and so on.
As if to underscore the point, for the past couple days both my cats have started yakking up their food right after eating*. :\ I think I'll stick to canned soups and noodles for the remainder of the week...
