I'm the guest DJ on Yehoodi Radio this month, playing stuff from my collection of live music that I've amassed over the years. The background here is that from 2003-2005 I recorded hours and hours of some of the best live swing bands around, and most of those recordings have never ever been released, so this is the first time a lot of people are hearing them.
Really if I had my way I would put all the music up on a server and let people have it all for free, CC-licensed, the works. Sadly there are like a million different ownership interests, from me to the venue organizers to the musicians to the songwriters, so it's not really clear who actually owns these recordings. Until then this is the best we have.
