A few things have probably pushed me to write an LJ. The racial tensions on campus. Girls. And some prodding from italianali. So here we go:

Yo, I was just talking about this tonight... So fucked up that there are race issues on a campus that is predominantly lower class (at least , working class if you want to put it that way). Students should be rallying behind their economic status, not their race. So many come from similar backgrounds in that respect.

Anyways, I'm really at a loss for words, I think it's pretty fucked up.

you're going to have race issues anywhere you go in life. unfortunately, many races feel that if something doesn't go their way, or how they would like it to be, that it's due to race, and that's not always the case.

as for the guy that was sprayed, i'd press charges against the cops for wrongful arrest and abuse. especially if there are witnesses that will say he did nothing to the car, then they can really come down hard on the cops that did that.

the sad thing is that umass cops usually have nothing to do but be assholes and watch TV. when they actually have to do police like things, they have no clue what to do.
